This study presents a photothermal material that is facilely fabricated from waste human hair, offering a low cost and environmentally friendly deicing approach. A microstructure is introduced to enhance light absorption through internal trapping. Under 1 sun irradiation, the optimized material reaches 65°C within 10 min and maintains stable performance during prolonged and cyclic heating. It exhibits excellent anti-icing, deicing, and defrosting capabilities, successfully melting ice layers up to 5 mm thick on a blade model within 90 s. With high flexibility and durability, the waste-derived photothermal material provides a scalable, economical, and sustainable strategy for practical deicing applications.
