The presented work explores the potential use of condensed tannin from Chinese bayberry to prepare polyvinyl alcohol-based films using a facile solvent casting method. Polyvinyl alcohol films incorporated with Chinese bayberry tannin presented good performance on antioxidant and thermal degradation capacity, which may provide broader formulation options for packaging materials.
