    Knockdown of Rap1b Enhances Apoptosis and Autophagy in Gastric Cancer Cells via the PI3K/Akt/mTOR Pathway

    Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most common malignancy and the second leading cause of cancer mortality around the world. However, the regulatory mechanisms of GC tumorigenesis and cancer cell motility are completely unknown. We investigated the role of a RAS-related protein (Rap1b) in the progression of GC. Our results showed that the expression of Rap1b is aberrantly upregulated in GC tissue samples and human GC cell lines, and the high expression of Rap1b indicated a positive correlation with poor prognosis in patients with GC.     Abstract This study aimed to investigate the role of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in multidrug resistance of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells induced by cocultured stromal cells. Human AML cell lines HL-60 and U937 were adhesion cocultured with human bone marrow stromal cell line HS-5 cells. Such coculturing induced HL-60 and U937 cells resistant to chemotherapeutic drugs including daunorubicin (DNR), homoharringtonine (HHT), and cytosine arabinoside (Ara-C).     Abstract It is largely recognized that PDCD4 is frequently lost in tumors of various origins, including lung cancer, and its loss contributes to tumor progression. However, its role and molecular mechanism remain largely unexplored in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In this study, downregulated PDCD4 mRNA expression was found in NSCLC tissues compared to their corresponding paracarcinoma tissues and distal paracarcinoma tissues.     Abstract In this paper, an undisturbed soil-column infiltrating experiment is investigated, and a mathematical model describing multi-components solutes transport behaviors in the column is put forward by combing hydro-chemical analysis with advection dispersion mechanisms, which is a group of advection-dispersion-reaction partial differential equations.
