    Abstract The natural neighbour Galerkin method is tailored to solve boundary value problems of the couple-stress elasticity to model the size dependent behaviour of materials. This method is based on the displacement-based Galerkin approach, and the calculation of the global stiffness matrix is performed using gradient smoothing technique combined with the non-Sibsonian partition of unity approximation scheme.     Abstract In order to measure the attitude parameters of the projectile, a high-speed 3-dimensional digital image correlation (H3D-DIC) system is designed and constructed. In the H3D-DIC system, two high-speed cameras are used to capture the images of the projectile from two different directions and the 3-dimensional coordinates of the markers painted on projectile are obtained by processing the images using stereovision techniques.     Abstract In this paper, a modified paradigm of quasi conforming finite element method with truncated polynomial expansions of in-domain displacements and derived expansions of strains is introduced. The purpose is to improve the drawbacks of the traditional one that neglecting the connections between the components of strain and lack of principle in the process of choosing polynomial expansions.     Abstract The Stress distribution of contact area in engineering structure is complex. Automatic whole-field measurement of photo-elasticity is a feasibility method to solve the contact problem. However, the problem of isoclinic and isochromatic interaction is important in phase-shifting techniques in photo-elasticity. The technique named 8-step phase shifting technique is applied to solve the problem of isoclinic fringe pattern influenced by isochromatic fringe patterns in integer order and half-integer order.     Abstract The high-performance parallel computing scheme has already been increasingly recognized as an attractive alternative method to resolve the large-scale problems of CO2 sequestration. This paper therefore conducts a parallel computation for simulating multiple well-injection scenarios and long-term CO2 geologic sequestration in a saline aquifer (Figure 1a) based on the ECO2N module of the TOUGH2-MP that is the parallel version of TOUGH2 implemented by the MPI.
