    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.1, pp. 801-816, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030902

Abstract The intuitive fuzzy set has found important application in decision-making and machine learning. To enrich and utilize the intuitive fuzzy set, this study designed and developed a deep neural network-based glaucoma eye detection using fuzzy difference equations in the domain where the retinal images converge. Retinal image detections are categorized as normal eye recognition, suspected glaucomatous eye recognition, and glaucomatous eye recognition. Fuzzy degrees associated with weighted values are calculated to determine the level of concentration between the fuzzy partition and the retinal images. The proposed model was used to diagnose glaucoma using retinal images and involved utilizing the Convolutional… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 3237-3263, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.045948

Abstract With the continuous development of deep learning, Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) has attracted wide attention in the industry due to its high accuracy in image classification. Compared with other DCNN hardware deployment platforms, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) has the advantages of being programmable, low power consumption, parallelism, and low cost. However, the enormous amount of calculation of DCNN and the limited logic capacity of FPGA restrict the energy efficiency of the DCNN accelerator. The traditional sequential sliding window method can improve the throughput of the DCNN accelerator by data multiplexing, but this method’s data multiplexing rate is low… More >

    Chaoqian He1,2, Runfang Hao1,2,*, Kun Yang1,2, Zhongyun Yuan1,2, Shengbo Sang1,2, Xiaorui Wang1,2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 3423-3442, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.045718

Abstract Intelligent fault diagnosis in modern mechanical equipment maintenance is increasingly adopting deep learning technology. However, conventional bearing fault diagnosis models often suffer from low accuracy and unstable performance in noisy environments due to their reliance on a single input data. Therefore, this paper proposes a dual-channel convolutional neural network (DDCNN) model that leverages dual data inputs. The DDCNN model introduces two key improvements. Firstly, one of the channels substitutes its convolution with a larger kernel, simplifying the structure while addressing the lack of global information and shallow features. Secondly, the feature layer combines data from different sensors based on their… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 2857-2879, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042726

Abstract In many commercial and public sectors, the Internet of Things (IoT) is deeply embedded. Cyber security threats aimed at compromising the security, reliability, or accessibility of data are a serious concern for the IoT. Due to the collection of data from several IoT devices, the IoT presents unique challenges for detecting anomalous behavior. It is the responsibility of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to ensure the security of a network by reporting any suspicious activity. By identifying failed and successful attacks, IDS provides a more comprehensive security capability. A reliable and efficient anomaly detection system is essential for IoT-driven decision-making.… More >

    S. Kannan1,*, S. Anusuya2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 3835-3851, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042465

Abstract Gliomas, the most prevalent primary brain tumors, require accurate segmentation for diagnosis and risk assessment. In this paper, we develop a novel deep learning-based method, the Dynamic Hierarchical Attention for Improved Segmentation and Survival Prognosis (DHA-ISSP) model. The DHA-ISSP model combines a three-band 3D convolutional neural network (CNN) U-Net architecture with dynamic hierarchical attention mechanisms, enabling precise tumor segmentation and survival prediction. The DHA-ISSP model captures fine-grained details and contextual information by leveraging attention mechanisms at multiple levels, enhancing segmentation accuracy. By achieving remarkable results, our approach surpasses 369 competing teams in the 2020 Multimodal Brain Tumor Segmentation Challenge. With… More >

Abstract Tomato leaf diseases significantly impact crop production, necessitating early detection for sustainable farming. Deep Learning (DL) has recently shown excellent results in identifying and classifying tomato leaf diseases. However, current DL methods often require substantial computational resources, hindering their application on resource-constrained devices. We propose the Deep Tomato Detection Network (DTomatoDNet), a lightweight DL-based framework comprising 19 learnable layers for efficient tomato leaf disease classification to overcome this. The Convn kernels used in the proposed (DTomatoDNet) framework is 1 × 1, which reduces the number of parameters and helps in more detailed and descriptive feature extraction for classification. The proposed DTomatoDNet model… More >
