Abstract Aluminum-activated malate transporters (ALMT) are widely involved in plant growth and metabolic processes, including adaptation to acid soils, guard cell regulation, anion homeostasis, and seed development. Although ALMT genes have been identified in Arabidopsis, wheat, barley, and Lotus japonicus, little is known about its presence in Gossypium hirsutum L. In this study, ALMT gene recognition in diploid and tetraploid cotton were done using bioinformatics analysis that examined correlation between homology and evolution. Differentially regulated ALMT genetic profile in G. hirsutum was examined, using RNA sequencing and qRT-PCR, during six fiber developmental time-points, namely 5 d, 7 d, 10 d, 15 d,… More >

Abstract The complex composition of herbal metabolites necessitates the development of powerful analytical techniques aimed to identify the bioactive components. The seeds of Descurainia sophia (SDS) are utilized in China as a cough and asthma relieving agent. Herein, a dimension-enhanced integral approach, by combining ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/ion mobility-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC/IM-QTOF-MS) and intelligent peak annotation, was developed to rapidly characterize the multicomponents from SDS. Good chromatographic separation was achieved within 38 min on a UPLC CSH C18 (2.1 × 100 mm, 1.7 μm) column which was eluted by 0.1% formic acid in water (water phase)… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.2, pp. 547-557, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2021.016500 - 20 October 2021

Abstract As nucleic acid-guided endonucleases, some prokaryotic Argonautes have been used as programmable nucleases. Natronobacterium gregoryi Argonaute (NgAgo) has also been proposed for gene editing, but this remains very controversial. Until now, the endogenous nucleic acids that bind to NgAgo in Natronobacterium gregoryi sp2 (N. gregoryi sp2) have not been characterized. We expressed the conserved PIWI domain of NgAgo and used it to induce anti-PIWI antibody. We also cultured the N. gregoryi sp2 strain and performed immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assays. The nucleic acids that endogenously bound NgAgo in N. gregoryi sp2 cells were sequenced and analyzed.… More >

Abstract Intracavity absorption spectroscopy is a strikingly sensitive technique that has been integrated with a two-wavelength setup to develop a sensor for human breath. Various factors are considered in such a scenario, out of which Relative Intensity Noise (RIN) has been exploited as an important parameter to characterize and calibrate the said setup. During the performance of an electrical based assessment arrangement which has been developed in the laboratory as an alternative to the expensive Agilent setup, the optical amplifier plays a pivotal role in its development and operation, along with other components and their significance.… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.3, pp. 833-847, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2021.017377 - 28 September 2021

Abstract ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO-NP) present innovative optical, electrical, and magnetic properties that depend on specific characteristics, e.g., size, distribution, and morphology. Thus, these properties are essential to address various applications in areas such as electronics, medicine, energy, and others. In addition, the performance of this ZnONP depends of their preparation which can be done by chemical, physical, and biological methods. Meanwhile, nowadays, the main interest in developing ZnO-NP synthesis through biological methods bases on the decrease of use of toxic chemicals or energy applied to the procedures, making the process more cost-effective and environmentally friendly. However,… More >

Abstract Early diagnosis of a pandemic disease like COVID-19 can help deal with a dire situation and help radiologists and other experts manage human resources more effectively. In a recent pandemic, laboratories perform diagnostics manually, which requires a lot of time and expertise of the laboratorial technicians to yield accurate results. Moreover, the cost of kits is high, and well-equipped labs are needed to perform this test. Therefore, other means of diagnosis is highly desirable. Radiography is one of the existing methods that finds its use in the diagnosis of COVID-19. The radiography observes change in… More >

Abstract In the present paper, we report the synthesis of a new amino polymer made of oxazolidinone using an efficient ecocatalyst called Maghnite-H+. The synthesis process contains two steps: the first consists to the preparation of an amino oxiran 3-(oxiran-ylmethyl) oxazolidin- 2-one (OMO) by a substitution reaction of epichlorhydrin by 2-oxazolidinone, the second step concerns a green polymerization of the resultant oxiran by a ring opening reaction catalysed by Maghnite-H+. The polymer have been successfully prepared and characterized by various techniques, such as 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, which were used to elucidate the structural characteristics of the More >
