DIBYENDU S. BAG*, SHILPI TIWARI, AKANSHA DIXIT, KM. MEENU

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.40, No.1-2, pp. 105-123, 2023, DOI:10.32381/JPM.2023.40.1-2.9

Abstract In this paper, we report the microstructural investigation and influence of H-bonding on the thermal behavior e.g., glass transition (Tg ) and thermal degradation of chiral copolymers of (R)- N-(1-phenyl-ethyl) methacrylamide (R-NPEMAM) and 2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate (HEMA). The Tg increases with the increase of chiral unit content in the copolymers and then attains optimum at around 25 mole % of chiral content. Thereafter it decreases with the increase of chiral content. The effect of copolymer composition and secondary interaction associated with the Hbonding on the thermal properties of these copolymers was also studied. Secondary interaction, specifically H-bonding has been interpreted… More >

    FOUED KHOFFI1,*, OMAR HARZALLAH2, JEAN YVES DREAN2

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.40, No.1-2, pp. 59-69, 2023, DOI:10.32381/JPM.2023.40.1-2.5

Abstract The aim of this study is to analyze the interfacial and the frictional properties of copper (Cu) reinforced polyethylene terephthalate (PET) filament. This Cu-Embedded PET filament will be used as an information transmitter. This filament was prepared by a co-extrusion process. Mechanical properties of these filaments have been quantified by tensile and pull-out analyses. It is shown that the mechanical properties of composite filament were improved by adding the copper filament (from 0.82 to 1.2 GPa). The results of the pull-out test revealed some adhesion between the copper and the PET despite the existence of a slippage of the copper… More >

    Ran Wang1, Aimin Gong1,*, Shanqing Shao1, Baoli Qu2, Jing Xu3, Fulai Wang1, Feipeng Liu3,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.4, pp. 749-769, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.042566

Abstract The mechanical properties of cementitious sand and gravel damming material have been experimentally determined by means of microscopic SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) image analysis. The results show that the combination of fly ash and water can fill the voids in cemented sand and gravel test blocks because of the presence of hydrated calcium silicate and other substances; thereby, the compactness and mechanical properties of these materials can be greatly improved. For every 10 kg/m3 increase in the amount of cementitious material, the density increases by about 2%, and the water content decreases by 0.2%. The amount of cementitious material used… More > Graphic Abstract

Aravind Sathyanarayanaa, Pramod Warrierb, Yogendra Joshia,*, Amyn Tejab

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.2, No.4, pp. 1-7, 2011, DOI:10.5098/hmt.v2.4.3007

Abstract Electrical and chemical compatibility requirements of electronic components pose significant constraints on the choice of liquid coolants. Dielectric coolants such as Novec fluids and fluoroinerts are plagued by poor thermal properties. This necessitates the development of new heat transfer fluids. In this study we examine mixture formulations that provide an avenue for enhancing the properties of existing heat transfer fluids. Mixture formulations of Novec fluid (HFE 7200) with Methanol and Ethoxybutane are considered. Pool boiling experiments are performed on a copper nanowire surface. The results show an improvement of 24% and 11% in the CHF of HFE 7200 – Methanol… More >

    Wuyang Fan, Shisheng Zhong*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.3, pp. 2525-2555, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.046951

Abstract The dynamic balance assessment during the assembly of the coordinator gyroscope significantly impacts the guidance accuracy of precision-guided equipment. In dynamic balance debugging, reliance on rudimentary counterweight empirical formulas persists, resulting in suboptimal debugging accuracy and an increased repetition rate. To mitigate this challenge, we present a multi-head residual graph attention network (ResGAT) model, designed to predict dynamic balance counterweights with high precision. In this research, we employ graph neural networks for interaction feature extraction from assembly graph data. An SDAE-GPC model is designed for the assembly condition classification to derive graph data inputs for the ResGAT regression model, which… More >
