    Efficacy and Safety of CalliSpheres® Drug-Eluting Beads Transarterial Chemoembolization in Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer Stage C Patients

    Abstract This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of drug-eluting beads transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) treatment in Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage C liver cancer patients. In 39 patients with BCLC stage C liver cancer, after the first cycle of DEB-TACE, 2 (5.1%) and 24 (61.5%) patients achieved complete response (CR) and partial response (PR) to give an overall objective response rate (ORR) of 66.7%.     Abstract Objective: We describe the long-term follow-up of a child with recurrent hemoptysis due to severe pulmonary vein stenosis decompressing via collaterals to esophageal varices.

    Interventions: The child underwent cutting balloon angioplasty, bare metal stenting, and implantation of a PTFE-covered stent, all of which failed rapidly.     Abstract Introduction: The prostatic urethral Lift (PUL) procedure offers a novel treatment for men with lower urinary tract obstructive symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Most patients who seek LUTS/BPH treatment choose the intervention that offers the expectations of a significant improvement in quality of life and the least chance of short or long term morbidity.     Abstract Microarrays do not yield direct evidence for functional connections between genes. However, transcription factors (TFs) and their binding sites (TFBSs) in promoters are important for inducing and coordinating changes in RNA levels, and thus represent the first layer of functional interaction.     Abstract A numerical simulation has been performed on the hemodynamics associated with embolization procedures. The flow geometry includes a multibranch artery which is upstream of a targeted tumor. During the procedure, drug-eluting particles are released into the local arterial geometry and are carried downstream by the flowing blood. The intention is to cause embolization of a daughter artery which feeds the tumor.     Abstract Secreted arginases from Evernia prunastri and Xanthoria parietina thalli, exhibiting lectin activity, have been purified to homogeneity. Analyses of both amino acid and glycoside composition are reported. Purified proteins have been subjected to tryptic digestion and some amino acid sequences have been analyzed. An undecapeptide from Evernia arginase, which shows some degree of homology with the domain to which Mn2+ binds, a heptapeptide and an undecapeptide from Xanthoria arginase have been analyzed, and homologies with some arginases from other fungi and plants have been found.
