Adaptive Multi-Layer Selective Ensemble Least Square Support Vector Machines with Applications

    Gang Yu1,4,5, Jian Tang2,*, Jian Zhang3, Zhonghui Wang6

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.1, pp. 273-290, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016981 - 12 May 2021

Abstract Kernel learning based on structure risk minimum can be employed to build a soft measuring model for analyzing small samples. However, it is difficult to select learning parameters, such as kernel parameter (KP) and regularization parameter (RP). In this paper, a soft measuring method is investigated to select learning parameters, which is based on adaptive multi-layer selective ensemble (AMLSEN) and least-square support vector machine (LSSVM). First, candidate kernels and RPs with K and R numbers are preset based on prior knowledge, and candidate sub-sub-models with K*R numbers are constructed through utilizing LSSVM. Second, the candidate More >

Deep Learning Enabled Autoencoder Architecture for Collaborative Filtering Recommendation in IoT Environment

    Thavavel Vaiyapuri*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 487-503, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015998 - 22 March 2021

Abstract The era of the Internet of things (IoT) has marked a continued exploration of applications and services that can make people’s lives more convenient than ever before. However, the exploration of IoT services also means that people face unprecedented difficulties in spontaneously selecting the most appropriate services. Thus, there is a paramount need for a recommendation system that can help improve the experience of the users of IoT services to ensure the best quality of service. Most of the existing techniques—including collaborative filtering (CF), which is most widely adopted when building recommendation systems—suffer from rating… More >

Ensemble Machine Learning Based Identification of Pediatric Epilepsy

Shamsah Majed Alotaibi1, Atta-ur-Rahman1, Mohammed Imran Basheer1, Muhammad Adnan Khan2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 149-165, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015976 - 22 March 2021

Abstract Epilepsy is a type of brain disorder that causes recurrent seizures. It is the second most common neurological disease after Alzheimer’s. The effects of epilepsy in children are serious, since it causes a slower growth rate and a failure to develop certain skills. In the medical field, specialists record brain activity using an Electroencephalogram (EEG) to observe the epileptic seizures. The detection of these seizures is performed by specialists, but the results might not be accurate due to human errors; therefore, automated detection of epileptic pediatric seizures might be the optimal solution. This paper investigates… More >

Large-Scale KPI Anomaly Detection Based on Ensemble Learning and Clustering

    Ji Qian1, Fang Liu2,*, Donghui Li3, Xin Jin4, Feng Li4

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.2, No.4, pp. 157-166, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2020.011169 - 07 December 2020

Abstract Anomaly detection using KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is critical for Internet-based services to maintain high service availability. However, given the velocity, volume, and diversified nature of monitoring data, it is difficult to obtain enough labelled data to build an accurate anomaly detection model for using supervised machine leaning methods. In this paper, we propose an automatic and generic transfer learning strategy: Detecting anomalies on a new KPI by using pretrained model on existing selected labelled KPI. Our approach, called KADT (KPI Anomaly Detection based on Transfer Learning), integrates KPI clustering and model pretrained techniques. KPI More >

Ensemble Learning Based on GBDT and CNN for Adoptability Prediction

    Yunfan Ye1, Fang Liu1, *, Shan Zhao2, Wanting Hu3, Zhiyao Liang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.2, pp. 1361-1372, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011632 - 20 August 2020

Abstract By efficiently and accurately predicting the adoptability of pets, shelters and rescuers can be positively guided on improving attraction of pet profiles, reducing animal suffering and euthanization. Previous prediction methods usually only used a single type of content for training. However, many pets contain not only textual content, but also images. To make full use of textual and visual information, this paper proposed a novel method to process pets that contain multimodal information. We employed several CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) based models and other methods to extract features from images and texts to obtain the More >

Ensemble Recurrent Neural Network-Based Residual Useful Life Prognostics of Aircraft Engines

    Jun Wu1,*, Kui Hu1, Yiwei Cheng2, Ji Wang1, Chao Deng2,*, Yuanhan Wang3

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.13, No.3, pp. 317-329, 2019, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2019.05571

Abstract Residual useful life (RUL) prediction is a key issue for improving efficiency of aircraft engines and reducing their maintenance cost. Owing to various failure mechanism and operating environment, the application of classical models in RUL prediction of aircraft engines is fairly difficult. In this study, a novel RUL prognostics method based on using ensemble recurrent neural network to process massive sensor data is proposed. First of all, sensor data obtained from the aircraft engines are preprocessed to eliminate singular values, reduce random fluctuation and preserve degradation trend of the raw sensor data. Secondly, three kinds More >

    Wentao Zhao1, Pan Li1,*, Chengzhang Zhu1,2, Dan Liu1, Xiao Liu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.3, pp. 817-832, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05957

Abstract The defense techniques for machine learning are critical yet challenging due to the number and type of attacks for widely applied machine learning algorithms are significantly increasing. Among these attacks, the poisoning attack, which disturbs machine learning algorithms by injecting poisoning samples, is an attack with the greatest threat. In this paper, we focus on analyzing the characteristics of positioning samples and propose a novel sample evaluation method to defend against the poisoning attack catering for the characteristics of poisoning samples. To capture the intrinsic data characteristics from heterogeneous aspects, we first evaluate training data More >

A Novel Ensemble Learning Algorithm Based on D-S Evidence Theory for IoT Security

    Changting Shi1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.57, No.3, pp. 635-652, 2018, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2018.03754

Abstract In the last decade, IoT has been widely used in smart cities, autonomous driving and Industry 4.0, which lead to improve efficiency, reliability, security and economic benefits. However, with the rapid development of new technologies, such as cognitive communication, cloud computing, quantum computing and big data, the IoT security is being confronted with a series of new threats and challenges. IoT device identification via Radio Frequency Fingerprinting (RFF) extracting from radio signals is a physical-layer method for IoT security. In physical-layer, RFF is a unique characteristic of IoT device themselves, which can difficultly be tampered. More >
