Maximum Power Extraction Control Algorithm for Hybrid Renewable Energy System

    N. Kanagaraj*, Mohammed Al-Ansi

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.1, pp. 769-784, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.029457

Abstract In this research, a modified fractional order proportional integral derivate (FOPID) control method is proposed for the photovoltaic (PV) and thermoelectric generator (TEG) combined hybrid renewable energy system. The faster tracking and steady-state output are aimed at the suggested maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control technique. The derivative order number (µ) value in the improved FOPID (also known as PIλDµ) control structure will be dynamically updated utilizing the value of change in PV array voltage output. During the transient, the value of µ is changeable; it’s one at the start and after reaching the maximum power… More >

    Yaya Wang1, P. Veeresha2, D. G. Prakasha3, Haci Mehmet Baskonus4,*, Wei Gao5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.133, No.3, pp. 697-717, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021865

Abstract In this paper, the fractional natural decomposition method (FNDM) is employed to find the solution for the KunduEckhaus equation and coupled fractional differential equations describing the massive Thirring model. The massive Thirring model consists of a system of two nonlinear complex differential equations, and it plays a dynamic role in quantum field theory. The fractional derivative is considered in the Caputo sense, and the projected algorithm is a graceful mixture of Adomian decomposition scheme with natural transform technique. In order to illustrate and validate the efficiency of the future technique, we analyzed projected phenomena in More >

Optimal FOPID Controllers for LFC Including Renewables by Bald Eagle Optimizer

    Ahmed M. Agwa1, Mohamed Abdeen2, Shaaban M. Shaaban1,3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 5525-5541, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.031580

Abstract In this study, a bald eagle optimizer (BEO) is used to get optimal parameters of the fractional-order proportional–integral–derivative (FOPID) controller for load frequency control (LFC). Since BEO takes only a very short time in finding the optimal solution, it is selected for designing the FOPID controller that improves the system stability and maintains the frequency within a satisfactory range at different loads. Simulations and demonstrations are carried out using MATLAB-R2020b. The performance of the BEO-FOPID controller is evaluated using a two-zone interlinked power system at different loads and under uncertainty of wind and solar energies.… More >

Nursyazwani Mohamad Noor1, Siti Ainor Mohd Yatim1,*, Nur Intan Raihana Ruhaiyem2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 4923-4934, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.030414

Abstract In this paper, we present a three-compartment of pharmacokinetics model with irreversible rate constants. The compartment consists of arterial blood, tissues and venous blood. Fick’s principle and the law of mass action were used to develop the model based on the diffusion process. The model is modified into a fractional pharmacokinetics model with the sense of Caputo derivative. The existence and uniqueness of the model are investigated and the positivity of the model is established. The behaviour of the model is investigated by implementing numerical algorithms for the numerical solution of the system of fractional More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 2493-2511, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.024679

Abstract Three-phase induction motors are becoming increasingly utilized in industrial field due to their better efficiency and simple manufacture. The speed control of an induction motor is essential in a variety of applications, but it is difficult to control. This research analyses the three-phase induction motor’s performance using field-oriented control (FOC) and direct torque control (DTC) techniques. The major aim of this work is to provide a critical evaluation of developing a simple speed controller for induction motors with improving the performance of Induction Motor (IM). For controlling a motor, different optimization approaches are accessible; in More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 4441-4454, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029432

Abstract In this paper, a fractional order model based on the management of waste plastic in the ocean (FO-MWPO) is numerically investigated. The mathematical form of the FO-MWPO model is categorized into three components, waste plastic, Marine debris, and recycling. The stochastic numerical solvers using the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation neural networks (LMQBP-NNs) have been applied to present the numerical solutions of the FO-MWPO system. The competency of the method is tested by taking three variants of the FO-MWPO model based on the fractional order derivatives. The data ratio is provided for training, testing and authorization is 77%, More >

Tuning Rules for Fractional Order PID Controller Using Data Analytics

    P. R. Varshini*, S. Baskar, M. Varatharajan, S. Sadhana

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1787-1799, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024192

Flexibility and robust performance have made the FOPID (Fractional Order PID) controllers a better choice than PID (Proportional, Integral, Derivative) controllers. But the number of tuning parameters decreases the usage of FOPID controllers. Using synthetic data in available FOPID tuners leads to abnormal controller performances limiting their applicability. Hence, a new tuning methodology involving real-time data and overcomes the drawbacks of mathematical modeling is the need of the hour. This paper proposes a novel FOPID controller tuning methodology using machine learning algorithms. CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 2141-2157, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.013906

Abstract In this article, a brief biological structure and some basic properties of COVID-19 are described. A classical integer order model is modified and converted into a fractional order model with as order of the fractional derivative. Moreover, a valued structure preserving the numerical design, coined as Grunwald–Letnikov non-standard finite difference scheme, is developed for the fractional COVID-19 model. Taking into account the importance of the positivity and boundedness of the state variables, some productive results have been proved to ensure these essential features. Stability of the model at a corona free and a corona existing More >
