Higher order 8-node element and von Neumann strategy are employed for the finite element and the cellular element, respectively. The validating studies of standard testing structure for topological optimization are carried out. The structure evolution, stress evolution and thermal evolution of topology optimization with mechanical and heat constraints are investigated. DEVELOPMENT OF A HEAT PIPE AND GREY BASED TAGUCHI METHOD FOR MULTI-OUTPUT OPTIMIZATION TO IMPROVE THERMAL PERFORMANCE USING HYBRID NANOFLUIDS

    Mohammed Yunus*, Mohammad S. Alsoufi

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.12, pp. 1-8, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.12.11

Abstract Swift cooling systems, improved microprocessor chips, processors’ performance and power usage have increased production of an enormous amount of heat and high operating temperatures due to excess heat flux density in the field of microelectronics. A rapid cooling of electronic circuits and heat dissipation for the same size of pipe with the present technology as nano size circuits critically generate high heat flux beyond 100 W/cm2 is currently the challenging task with which we are presented. Cooling in the form of heat transfer should be managed using both thermal conductivity (evaporation) and phase transition (condensation)… More >

Abstract A hybrid cellular automaton model combined with a finite element method for thermal topology optimization of spindle structure is developed. The higher order 8-node element and von Neumann strategy are employed for the finite element and the cellular element, respectively. The local sensitivity filtering algorithm and the weight approach are applied. The four validating studies of two-dimensional structure for thermal topology optimization are carried out. The structure evolution and thermal distribution evolution of thermal topology optimization are investigated. The results show the developed hybrid method is more efficient for thermal topology optimization. Meanwhile, the thermal More >

    Hui Zhi1,2, Sanyang Liu1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 815-825, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000085

Abstract In this paper, we proposed a hybrid algorithm, which is embedding the genetic operators in the global-best-guided artificial bee colony algorithms called GABCGA to solve the nonlinear design optimization problems. The genetic algorithm has no memory function and good at find global optimization with large probability, but the artificial bee colony algorithm not have selection, crossover and mutation operator and most significant at local search. The hybrid algorithm balances the exploration and exploitation ability further by combining the advantages of both. The experimental results of five engineering optimization and comparisons with existing approaches show that More >

Hybrid Modulation Strategy For Reactive Compensation Of PV GridConnected Inverter

    Liao Tian-fa

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 695-704, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000073

Abstract With the spreading of Photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected system, grid-connected reactive-load compensation and harmonic control is becoming a research focus. Unipolar and bipolar modulations are widely used in active power filter of PV grid-connected inverter. Unipolar modulation is good at harmonic, ripples and efficiency control, while bipolar modulation is good at grid-connected current control. A comprehensive comparison between the aforementioned modulation strategies in aspects of basic switching action, effects on operation mode, current harmonics, efficiency, is done in this paper. Base on it, a hybrid modulation strategy with the fusion of the unipolar and bipolar modulation is More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 663-672, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000041

Abstract Medical images are obtained straight from the medical acquisition devices so that, the image quality becomes poor and may contain noises. Low contrast and poor quality are the major issues in the production of medical images. Medical imaging enhancement technology gives way to solve these issues; it helps the doctors to see the interior portions of the body for early diagnosis, also it improves the features the visual aspects of an image for a right diagnosis. This paper proposes a new blend of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Accelerated Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO) called Hybrid… More >

    Yue Li1, Guangquan Xu2,3, Hequn Xian1,*, Longlong Rao3, Jiangang Shi4,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.3, pp. 637-647, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000118

Abstract In order to prevent the spread of Android malware and protect privacy information from being compromised, this study proposes a novel multidimensional hybrid features extraction and analysis method for Android malware detection. This method is based primarily on a multidimensional hybrid features vector by extracting the information of permission requests, API calls, and runtime behaviors. The innovation of this study is to extract greater amounts of static and dynamic features information and combine them, that renders the features vector for training completer and more comprehensive. In addition, the feature selection algorithm is used to further More >

    Min Cao1, Sijing Zhou1, Honghao Gao1,2,3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.3, pp. 595-604, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000114

Abstract Recommender methods using reviews have become an area of active research in e-commerce systems. The use of auxiliary information in reviews as a way to effectively accommodate sparse data has been adopted in many fields, such as the product field. The existing recommendation methods using reviews typically employ aspect preference; however, the characteristics of product reviews are not considered adequate. To this end, this paper proposes a novel recommendation approach based on using product attributes to improve the efficiency of recommendation, and a hybrid collaborative filtering is presented. The product attribute model and a new More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.2, pp. 295-304, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000009

Abstract In this article, adaptive hybrid control scheme is proposed for controlling the position of a coaxial tri-rotor unmanned aerial system (UAS) in the presence of input saturation and external wind disturbance. The adaptive hybrid controller consists of model reference adaptive control with integral feedback (MRACI) and proportional integral derivative (PID) controller. The adaptive controller deals with the flight dynamics uncertainties and PID controller is used for tuning the gains of MRACI whereas the stability of system is verified by Lyapunov stability criterion. The integrator improves the order of the system thereby improving the convergence rate… More >

Haresh Kumar Sharma, Kriti Kumari, Samarjit Kar

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.1, pp. 1-14, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000036

Abstract This article focuses on the use of the rough set theory in modeling of time series forecasting. In this paper, we have used the double exponential smoothing (DES) model for forecasting. The classical DES model has been improved by using the rough set technique. The improved double exponential smoothing (IDES) method can be used for the time series data without any statistical assumptions. The proposed method is applied on tourism demand of the air transportation passenger data set in Australia and the results are compared with the classical DES model. It has been observed that More >
