    Chengbin Du*, Peng Zhang

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.21, No.2, pp. 34-34, 2019, DOI:10.32604/icces.2019.05397

Abstract Considering the existence of side-face loads, a new scaled boundary finite element (SBFEM) shape function is used to study the problem of wing crack propagation. In the solution of crack contact, the contact interface constraint is introduced by Lagrange multiplier method. The polygon SBFEM remeshing technology is used to simulate the crack propagation problem with single and multiple wing crack. Compared with related experimental and numerical simulation results, the correctness and effectiveness of the new SBFEM shape function in solving the wing crack propagation are verified. It is found that under pressure, the wing crack More >

    Rui Lu1, Zhanjun Wu1, Qi Zhou1, Hao Xu1,*

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.13, No.3, pp. 267-287, 2019, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2019.06323

Abstract Structural health monitoring (SHM) is a research focus involving a large category of techniques performing in-situ identification of structural damage, stress, external loads, vibration signatures, etc. Among various SHM techniques, those able to monitoring structural deformed shapes are considered as an important category. A novel method of deformed shape reconstruction for thin-walled beam structures was recently proposed by Xu et al. [1], which is capable of decoupling complex beam deformations subject to the combination of different loading cases, including tension/compression, bending and warping torsion, and also able to reconstruct the full-field displacement distributions. However, this… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.7, pp. 621-629, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.06466

Abstract This paper reports green nanocomposites made by blending polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with cellulose nanofiber (CNF) isolated from recycled deinked copy/printing paper (DIP). The reinforcement effect of DIPCNF in the nanocomposites is compared with other CNFs isolated from native cotton and hardwood by means of TEMPO-oxidation. The prepared PVA-CNF nanocomposites are characterized in terms of morphology, chemical interaction, structural, thermal and mechanical properties. X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirm the reinforcing ability of cellulose nanofibers into PVA. By blending CNFs into PVA matrix, the thermal stability of the nanocomposites is improved and DIPCNF shows More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.1, pp. 89-102, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.00136

Abstract Various amounts (up to 10 wt%) of palygorskite nanofibers functionalized by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) coupling agent were used to reinforce polyamide 11 nanocomposites prepared by melt compounding. The covalent bonding of the silane on the palygorskite surface was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. X-ray diffraction revealed the retention of the α-form of polyamide crystals upon the addition of both natural and silane treated palygorskite nanorods. All the investigated nanocomposites showed an improvement of the thermal stability, especially when surface treated palygorskite nanofibers were considered. Tensile tests and dynamic mechanical thermal analyses on the prepared More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.119, No.3, pp. 593-615, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.05579

Abstract Thermal parameters are important variables that have great influence on life time of turbine vanes. Therefore, accurate prediction of the thermal parameters is essential. In this study, a numerical approach for conjugate heat transfer (CHT) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used to investigate thermal sensitivity of a transonic guide vane which is fully film-cooled by 199 film holes. Thermal barrier coating (TBC), i.e., the typical TBC and a new one as the candidate TBC, and turbulence intensity (Tu), i.e., Tu=3.3%, 10% and 20%, are two variables used for the present study. At first the… More >

Journal of Information Hiding and Privacy Protection, Vol.1, No.1, pp. 11-21, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jihpp.2019.05979

Abstract The Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) had been proposed and used in therapeutics for decades. However, the need of time-consuming calibration phase and the lack of robustness, which are caused by little-labeled data, are restricting the advance and application of BCI, especially for the BCI based on motor imagery (MI). In this paper, we reviewed the recent development in the machine learning algorithm used in the MI-based BCI, which may provide potential solutions for addressing the issue. We classified these algorithms into two categories, namely, and enhancing the representation and expanding the training set. Specifically, these methods More >

    Chuanrong Wu1,*, Veronika Lee1, Mark E. McMurtrey2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.1, pp. 365-378, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.06949

Abstract Product innovation is regarded as a primary means for enterprises to maintain their competitive advantage. Knowledge transfer is a major way that enterprises access knowledge from the external environment for new product innovation. Knowledge transfer may face the risk of infringement of the intellectual property rights of other enterprises and the termination of licensing agreements by the knowledge source. Enterprises must develop independent innovation knowledge at the same time they profit from knowledge transfers. Therefore, new product development by an enterprise usually consists of three types of new knowledge: big data knowledge transferred from big… More >

    Yiru Sun1,2, Yuling Chen1,*, Haseeb Ahmad3, Zhanhong Wei4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.1, pp. 215-227, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05253

Abstract In this paper, we propose an asymmetric controlled bidirectional transmission protocol. In the protocol, by using the thirteen-qubit entangled state as the quantum channel, Alice can realize the transmission of a two-qubit equatorial state for Bob and Bob can transmit a four-qubit equatorial state for Alice under the control of Charlie. Firstly, we give the construction of the quantum channel, which can be done by performing several H and CNOT operations. Secondly, through implementing the appropriate measurements and the corresponding recovery operations, the desired states can be transmitted simultaneously, securely and deterministically. Finally, we analyze the More >
