A New Processing Method for the Nonlinear Signals Produced by Electromagnetic Flowmeters in Conditions of Pipe Partial Filling

    Yulin Jiang*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.4, pp. 759-772, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.014470 - 17 May 2021

Abstract When a pipe is partially filled with a given working liquid, the relationship between the electromotive force (EMF) measured by the sensor (flowmeter) and the average velocity is nonlinear and non-monotonic. This relationship varies with the inclination of the pipe, the fluid density, the pipe wall friction coefficient, and other factors. Therefore, existing measurement methods cannot meet the accuracy requirements of many industrial applications. In this study, a new processing method is proposed by which the flow rate can be measured with an ordinary electromagnetic flowmeter even if the pipe is only partially filled. First, More >

    Turki M. Alanazi1, Ahmed Ben Atitallah1,2,*, Imen Abid2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.3, pp. 2925-2943, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017575 - 06 May 2021

Abstract In this paper, a software/hardware High-level Synthesis (HLS) design is proposed to compute the Adaptive Vector Median Filter (AVMF) in real-time. In fact, this filter is known by its excellent impulsive noise suppression and chromaticity conservation. The software (SW) study of this filter demonstrates that its implementation is too complex. The purpose of this work is to study the impact of using an HLS tool to design ideal floating-point and optimized fixed-point hardware (HW) architectures for the AVMF filter using square root function (ideal HW) and ROM memory (optimized HW), respectively, to select the best… More >

    Seulgi Lee1, Ji-Sung Jung1, Young-Hwan You2, Hyoung-Kyu Song1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 2205-2219, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017008 - 13 April 2021

Abstract This paper proposes an improved hybrid beamforming system based on multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system. The proposed beamforming system improves energy efficiency compared to the conventional hybrid beamforming system. Both sub-connected and full-connected structure are considered to apply the proposed algorithm. In the conventional hybrid beamforming, the usage of radio frequency (RF) chains and phase shifter (PS) gives high power and hardware complexity. In this paper, the phase over sampling (POS) with switches (SW) is used in hybrid beamforming system to improve the energy efficiency. The POS-SW structure samples the value of… More >

    Abstract

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a style of software design where Web Services (WS) provide services to the other components through a communication protocol over a network. WS components are managed, updated, and rearranged at runtime to provide the business processes as SCs, which consist of a set of WSs that can be invoked in a specific order to fulfill the clients’ requests. According to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements, WS selection and composition are significant perspectives of research to meet the clients’ expectations. This paper presents an effective technique using SMFS that attempts to

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 409-429, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016113 - 22 March 2021

Abstract Network Intrusion Detection System (IDS) aims to maintain computer network security by detecting several forms of attacks and unauthorized uses of applications which often can not be detected by firewalls. The features selection approach plays an important role in constructing effective network IDS. Various bio-inspired metaheuristic algorithms used to reduce features to classify network traffic as abnormal or normal traffic within a shorter duration and showing more accuracy. Therefore, this paper aims to propose a hybrid model for network IDS based on hybridization bio-inspired metaheuristic algorithms to detect the generic attack. The proposed model has… More >

Improved Hybrid Beamforming for mmWave Multi-User Massive MIMO

    Ji-Sung Jung1, Won-Seok Lee1, Yeong-Rong Lee1, Jaeho Kim2, Hyoung-Kyu Song1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.3, pp. 3057-3070, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015673 - 01 March 2021

Abstract Massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) has become essential for the increase of capacity as the millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication is considered. Also, hybrid beamforming systems have been studied since full-digital beamforming is impractical due to high cost and power consumption of the radio frequency (RF) chains. This paper proposes a hybrid beamforming scheme to improve the spectral efficiency for multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) systems. In a frequency selective fading environment, hybrid beamforming schemes suffer from performance degradation since the analog precoder performs the same precoding for all subcarriers. To mitigate performance degradation, this paper uses the… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.126, No.3, pp. 1203-1216, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.012230 - 19 February 2021

Abstract The important issues of network TCP congestion control are how to compute the link price according to the link status and regulate the data sending rate based on link congestion pricing feedback information. However, it is difficult to predict the congestion state of the link-end accurately at the source. In this paper, we presented an improved NUMFabric algorithm for calculating the overall congestion price. In the proposed scheme, the whole network structure had been obtained by the central control server in the Software Defined Network, and a kind of dual-hierarchy algorithm for calculating overall network… More >
