    Detection of single copy sequences using BAC-FISH and C-PRINS techniques in sunflower chromosomes

    Abstract Bacterial artificial chromosome - fluorescence in situ hybridization (BAC-FISH) and cyclingprimed in situ labeling (C-PRINS) techniques were evaluated for integration of physical and genetic maps of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.). Single-site SSR markers were selected from three linkage groups of a high-density sunflower genetic map. This selection was based on previously identified QTL associated to S. sclerotiorum. These markers were used to select BACs contaning single copy sequences for BAC-FISH aplication.     Seventeen spp. new records for the Moss flora of Iraq

    Abstract Samples and specimens of mosses were collected in different parts of Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok and Even Kirkuk provinces in Iraq Kurdistan Region, since 1998 to April 2010. This collection could be taken as the representative species of mosses on the soil surface, rocks and tree barks of either terrestrial and aquatic habitats of foothills, mountains and plains. A total of 67 species distributed in 32 genera, 16 families and 9 orders were found.     Phase Transformation Behavior of C60 Fullerene under Atmospheric Pressure

    Abstract The phase transformation behaviors of C60 fullerene under atmospheric pressure are reported using a proposed thermostat molecular dynamics method designed for a solid system. We find that C60 fullerene directly undergoes a solid-vapor phase transformation, instead of a solid-liquid phase transition, at a specific threshold temperature. It reveals that C60 fullerene will sublimate when heated rather than melt under atmospheric pressure. This phenomenon is coincident with that of graphite at pressures below 10MPa.     Abstract The study aims at investigating the linear and volumetric thermal expansion coefficients (CTEs) at temperature below the Debye temperature and phase transformation behaviors at atmospheric pressure of carbon fullerenes, i.e., C60, C70 and C80, through a modified Nosé-Hoover (NH) thermostat method incorporated with molecular dynamics (MD) simulation.     Abstract The effects of oscillatory heating on thermosolutal convection in a cavity heated from below are investigated and discussed. The transient Navier-Stokes equations coupled with heat and mass balances are solved numerically by using a control-volume technique.     Abstract The three coupled governing differential equations for the in-plane vibrations of curved non-uniform Timoshenko beams are derived via the Hamilton's principle. Three physical parameters are introduced to simplify the analysis.
