Abstract For obstructive azoospermia, surgical sperm retrieval from the epididymis for IVF/ICSI is an established management. However, various recent studies have established that surgical reconstruction with vasovasostomy or vasoepididymostomy remains a more cost-effective treatment option than upfront assisted reproduction. After epididymal sperm retrieval, fibrosis and scarring of the punctured epididymal tubule can lead to complete epididymal obstruction. Abstract Micropropagation of Ilex dumosa var. dumosa R. (“yerba señorita”) from nodal segments containing one axillary bud was investigated. Shoot regeneration from explants of six-year-old plants was readily achieved in ¹/₄ strength Murashige and Skoog medium (¹/₄ MS) plus 30 gr·L^-1 sucrose and supplemented with 4.4 µM BA. Further multiplication and elongation of the regenerated shoots were obtained by subculture in a fresh medium of similar composition with 1.5 gr·L^-1 sucrose. Abstract An accuracy of finite element solutions for 3-D Timoshenko's beams, obtained using a co-rotational formulation, is discussed. The co-rotational formulation has often been used with an assumption that the relative deformations are small. Abstract Introduction: Circumcision has been the traditional treatment for phimosis. Recent reports of medical management of phimosis with topical steroids quote success rates of 67%-95%. We present our results with topical steroid therapy for treatment of phimosis.
Materials and methods: Retrospective review of 69 boys between the age of 3 and 13 years (average 7.4) who were referred to Urology clinic over a one year period (August 1999-2000) with phimosis.
