Reza Khademi Zahedi1, Naif Alajlan2, Hooman Khademi Zahedi3, Timon Rabczuk2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 4635-4655, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.017682 - 11 October 2021

Abstract The outstanding thermal, optical, electrical and mechanical properties of molybdenum disolphide (MoS2) heterostructures make them exceptional candidates for an extensive area of applications. Nevertheless, despite considerable technological and academic interest, there is presently a few information regarding the mechanical properties of these novel two-dimensional (2D) materials in the presence of the defects. In this manuscript, we performed extensive molecular dynamics simulations on pre-cracked and pre-notched all-molybdenum disolphide (MoS2) heterostructure systems using ReaxFF force field. Therefore, we study the influence of several central-crack lengths and notch diameters on the mechanical response of 2H phase, 1T phase and… More >

Design and Analysis of 4-bit 1.2GS/s Low Power CMOS Clocked Flash ADC

    G. Prathiba1,*, M. Santhi2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.3, pp. 1611-1626, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.018975 - 09 October 2021

Abstract High-quality, high-resolution flash ADCs are used in reliable VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integrated) circuits to minimize the power consumption. An analogue electrical signal is converted into a discrete-valued sequence by these ADCs. This paper proposes a four-bit 1.2GS/s low-power Clocked Flash ADC (C-FADC). A low-power Clocked-Improved Threshold Inverter Quantization (CITIQ) comparator, an Adaptive Bubble Free (ABF) logic circuit, and a compact Binary Encoder (BE) are all part of the presented structure. A clock network in the comparator circuit reduces skew and jitters, while an ABF logic circuit detects and corrects fourth order bubble faults detected from More >

Reversible Logic Based MOS Current Mode Logic Implementation in Digital Circuits

    S. Sharmila Devi1,*, V. Bhanumathi2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 3609-3624, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020426 - 27 September 2021

Abstract Now a days, MOS Current Mode Logic (MCML) has emerged as a better alternative to Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) logic in digital circuits. Recent works have only traditional logic gates that have issues with information loss. Reversible logic is incorporated with MOS Current Mode Logic (MCML) in this proposed work to solve this problem, which is used for multiplier design, D Flip-Flop (DFF) and register. The minimization of power and area is the main aim of the work. In reversible logic, the count of outputs and inputs is retained as the same value for… More >

Light Intensity Affects the Coloration and Structure of Chimeric Leaves of Ananas comosus var. bracteatus

Wei Yang, Yuke Lin, Yanbin Xue, Meiqin Mao, Xuzixing Zhou, Hao Hu, Jiawen Liu, Lijun Feng, Huiling Zhang, Jiaheng Luo, Jun Ma*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.91, No.2, pp. 333-348, 2022, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2022.016862 - 26 September 2021

Abstract Ananas comosus var. bracteatus is an important ornamental plant because of its green/white chimeric leaves. The accumulation of anthocyanin makes the leaf turn to red especially in the marginal part. However, the red fades away in summer and winter. Light intensity is one of the most important factors affecting leaf color along the seasons. In order to understand the effects of light intensity on the growth and coloration of the chimeric leaves, Ananas comosus var. bracteatus was grown under full sunlight, 50% shade and 75% shade for 75 days to evaluate the concentration of pigments, the color parameters… More >

Abstract The Moso bamboo, a renewable green building material used in various new green buildings, have received extensive attention with the promotion of the concept of green buildings. To explore the mechanical properties of Moso bamboo connections with external clamp steel plates, the 16 specimens were designed by changing the bolt diameters and the end distances of the bolt holes. Their static tension tests were conducted to investigate bearing capacities and failure modes of different connection configurations. Based on test results, three failure modes of these connections were obtained, including the shear failure of bolt shank, More > Graphic Abstract

Changming Linga,b,*,†, Xiaobo Louc, Yin Zhongb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-6, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.16

Abstract To solve the issues of high-energetic consumption, high-cost and high-carbon emissions in the processes of reverse osmosis seawater desalination technology, this study proposed and implemented a tidal energy-gathering supercharger with the concept of using green tidal energy to directly produce high-pressure-seawater-driven reverse osmosis seawater desalination system. Compared with the traditional way of using tidal energy to produce electric power in order to produce high-pressure water for the system, this technology could save energy that may lost in two transferring process thus can improve the energy efficiency of the whole system, lower its running cost, and More >

The role of YAP in the control of the metastatic potential of oral cancer

USAMA SHARIF AHMAD, KARTHIK SARAVANAN, HONG WAN*

    Oncology Research, Vol.29, No.6, pp. 377-391, 2021, DOI:10.32604/or.2022.026085 - 10 November 2022

Abstract The Yes-associated protein (YAP) is a downstream effector of the Hippo pathway and acts as a key transcription co-factor to regulate cell migration, proliferation, and survival. The Hippo pathway is evolutionarily conserved and controls tissue growth and organ size. Dysregulation and heterogeneity of this pathway are found in cancers, including oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), leading to overexpression of YAP and its regulated proliferation machinery. The activity of YAP is associated with its nuclear expression and is negatively regulated by the Hippo kinase-mediated phosphorylation resulting in an induction of its cytoplasmic translocation.
