    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.141, No.2, pp. 1365-1394, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.053681 - 27 September 2024

Abstract A mathematical model is designed to investigate Tuberculosis (TB) disease under the vaccination, treatment, and environmental impact with real cases. First, we introduce the model formulation in non-integer order derivative and then, extend the model into fractional order derivative. The fractional system’s existence, uniqueness, and other relevant properties are shown. Then, we study the stability analysis of the equilibrium points. The disease-free equilibrium (DFE) is locally asymptotically stable (LAS) when . Further, we show the global asymptotical stability (GAS) of the endemic equilibrium (EE) for and for . The existence of bifurcation analysis in the More >

The Influential Mechanisms of Theory of Mind on Prosocial Behavior and the Effect of Mindfulness Intervention

    Sisi Li1,3, Nailiang Zhong2,*, Qingke Guo1,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.9, pp. 679-695, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2024.054206 - 20 September 2024

Abstract Background: Theory of Mind (ToM) and empathy are crucial cognitive and emotional capacities that influence social interactions. While their role in promoting prosocial behavior has been established, the potential moderating effect of mindfulness on this relationship remains unexplored. Understanding these complex interactions is vital for developing effective interventions to foster prosocial behavior among college students. This study examines the influence of ToM on college students’ prosocial behavior and explores the moderating role of mindfulness in this relationship. Methods: A mixed-methods approach combining questionnaires and experimental design was employed. Study 1: A survey of 759 college… More >

More >

More >

Abstract Caring for cancer patients requires both technical and psychosocial nursing skills. The aim of this study was to determine the psychosocial care skill levels of nurses and affecting factors. This multicenter, cross-sectional study was conducted with 1,189 nurses providing direct care to adult cancer patients in 32 hospitals in 12 geographical regions of Turkey. A questionnaire, the Psychosocial Skills Form, and the Professional Quality of Life Scale were used to collect the data. Nurses’ psychosocial skill level was in the range of 2.72 ± 0.98 and 2.47 ± 0.89 out of four points. Communication skills… More >

Pour un accompagnement des familles endeuillées avec un enfant en bas âge

    Marthe Ducos1,*, Voskan Kirakosyan1,2, Nathalie Duriez3,4

    Psycho-Oncologie, Vol.18, No.3, pp. 201-211, 2024, DOI:10.32604/po.2023.043390 - 12 September 2024

More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.3, pp. 4513-4542, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.050049 - 12 September 2024

Abstract The DNS over HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) (DoH) is a new technology that encrypts DNS traffic, enhancing the privacy and security of end-users. However, the adoption of DoH is still facing several research challenges, such as ensuring security, compatibility, standardization, performance, privacy, and increasing user awareness. DoH significantly impacts network security, including better end-user privacy and security, challenges for network security professionals, increasing usage of encrypted malware communication, and difficulty adapting DNS-based security measures. Therefore, it is important to understand the impact of DoH on network security and develop new privacy-preserving techniques to allow More >

A Distributed Photovoltaics Ordering Grid-Connected Method for Analyzing Voltage Impact in Radial Distribution Networks

    Cuiping Li1, Kunqi Gao1, Can Chen2, Junhui Li1,*, Xiaoxiao Wang2, Yinchi Shao2, Xingxu Zhu1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.10, pp. 2937-2959, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.052167 - 11 September 2024

Abstract In recent years, distributed photovoltaics (DPV) has ushered in a good development situation due to the advantages of pollution-free power generation, full utilization of the ground or roof of the installation site, and balancing a large number of loads nearby. However, under the background of a large-scale DPV grid-connected to the county distribution network, an effective analysis method is needed to analyze its impact on the voltage of the distribution network in the early development stage of DPV. Therefore, a DPV orderly grid-connected method based on photovoltaics grid-connected order degree (PGOD) is proposed. This method… More >

Abstract Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is a perishable fruit because of its fast water loss and susceptibility to pathogens in the post-harvest stage, which leads to huge economic losses every year. In this study, firstly from 19 tomato cultivars, we screened out two cultivars, Riogrand and SalarF1, having long and short shelf-life spans, respectively. Secondly, shelf-life analysis was carried out for both cultivars at room temperature. Results exhibited that Riogrand showed higher firmness and less weight loss than SalarF1. The ethylene production was higher in SalarF1, compared with Riogrand during post-harvest storages. We performed transcriptomic analysis of both… More >
