    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.3, pp. 1317-1333, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06177

Abstract Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) has caused great damage to the network in the big data environment. Existing methods are characterized by low computational efficiency, high false alarm rate and high false alarm rate. In this paper, we propose a DDoS attack detection method based on network flow grayscale matrix feature via multiscale convolutional neural network (CNN). According to the different characteristics of the attack flow and the normal flow in the IP protocol, the seven-tuple is defined to describe the network flow characteristics and converted into a grayscale feature by binary. Based on the network flow More >

    Bo Zhang1, Haowen Wang1, #, Longquan Jiang1, Shuhan Yuan2, Meizi Li1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.3, pp. 1273-1288, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.07269

Abstract Deep learning models have been shown to have great advantages in answer selection tasks. The existing models, which employ encoder-decoder recurrent neural network (RNN), have been demonstrated to be effective. However, the traditional RNN-based models still suffer from limitations such as 1) high-dimensional data representation in natural language processing and 2) biased attentive weights for subsequent words in traditional time series models. In this study, a new answer selection model is proposed based on the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) and attention mechanism. The proposed model is able to generate the more effective question-answer pair More >

Prison Term Prediction on Criminal Case Description with Deep Learning

    Shang Li1, Hongli Zhang1, *, Lin Ye1, Shen Su2, Xiaoding Guo1, Haining Yu1, 3, Binxing Fang1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.3, pp. 1217-1231, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06787

Abstract The task of prison term prediction is to predict the term of penalty based on textual fact description for a certain type of criminal case. Recent advances in deep learning frameworks inspire us to propose a two-step method to address this problem. To obtain a better understanding and more specific representation of the legal texts, we summarize a judgment model according to relevant law articles and then apply it in the extraction of case feature from judgment documents. By formalizing prison term prediction as a regression problem, we adopt the linear regression model and the More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.122, No.2, pp. 433-458, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.08680 - 01 February 2020

Abstract Focusing on the structural optimization of auxetic materials using data-driven methods, a back-propagation neural network (BPNN) based design framework is developed for petal-shaped auxetics using isogeometric analysis. Adopting a NURBS-based parametric modelling scheme with a small number of design variables, the highly nonlinear relation between the input geometry variables and the effective material properties is obtained using BPNN-based fitting method, and demonstrated in this work to give high accuracy and efficiency. Such BPNN-based fitting functions also enable an easy analytical sensitivity analysis, in contrast to the generally complex procedures of typical shape and size sensitivity More >

    Kemal Akyol1, *

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.122, No.2, pp. 619-632, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.07632 - 01 February 2020

Abstract Parkinson’s disease is a serious disease that causes death. Recently, a new dataset has been introduced on this disease. The aim of this study is to improve the predictive performance of the model designed for Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. By and large, original DNN models were designed by using specific or random number of neurons and layers. This study analyzed the effects of parameters, i.e., neuron number and activation function on the model performance based on growing and pruning approach. In other words, this study addressed the optimum hidden layer and neuron numbers and ideal activation More >

Advanced Feature Fusion Algorithm Based on Multiple Convolutional Neural Network for Scene Recognition

    Lei Chen1, #, Kanghu Bo2, #, Feifei Lee1, *, Qiu Chen1, 3, *

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.122, No.2, pp. 505-523, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.08425 - 01 February 2020

Abstract Scene recognition is a popular open problem in the computer vision field. Among lots of methods proposed in recent years, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based approaches achieve the best performance in scene recognition. We propose in this paper an advanced feature fusion algorithm using Multiple Convolutional Neural Network (MultiCNN) for scene recognition. Unlike existing works that usually use individual convolutional neural network, a fusion of multiple different convolutional neural networks is applied for scene recognition. Firstly, we split training images in two directions and apply to three deep CNN model, and then extract features from More >

    Fan Liu1, Jianwei Yan2, Wantao Wang2, Jian Liu2, *, Junying Li3, Alan Yang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.2, pp. 801-816, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.07039

Abstract Skin lesion recognition is an important challenge in the medical field. In this paper, we have implemented an intelligent classification system based on convolutional neural network. First of all, this system can classify whether the input image is a dermascopic image with an accuracy of 99%. And then diagnose the dermoscopic image and the non-skin mirror image separately. Due to the limitation of the data, we can only realize the recognition of vitiligo by non-skin mirror. We propose a vitiligo recognition based on the probability average of three structurally identical CNN models. The method is More >

Abstract In the process of spectrum perception, in order to realize accurate perception of the channel state, the method of multi-node cooperative perception can usually be used. However, the first problem to be considered is how to complete information fusion and obtain more accurate and reliable judgment results based on multi-node perception results. The ideas put forward in this paper are as follows: firstly, the perceived results of each node are obtained on the premise of limiting detection probability and false alarm probability. Then, on the one hand, the weighted fusion criterion of decision-making weight optimization… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.2, pp. 731-746, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06508

Abstract With the development of deep learning and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), the accuracy of automatic food recognition based on visual data have significantly improved. Some research studies have shown that the deeper the model is, the higher the accuracy is. However, very deep neural networks would be affected by the overfitting problem and also consume huge computing resources. In this paper, a new classification scheme is proposed for automatic food-ingredient recognition based on deep learning. We construct an up-to-date combinational convolutional neural network (CBNet) with a subnet merging technique. Firstly, two different neural networks are… More >

Abstract With the popularity of deep learning tools in image decomposition and natural language processing, how to support and store a large number of parameters required by deep learning algorithms has become an urgent problem to be solved. These parameters are huge and can be as many as millions. At present, a feasible direction is to use the sparse representation technique to compress the parameter matrix to achieve the purpose of reducing parameters and reducing the storage pressure. These methods include matrix decomposition and tensor decomposition. To let vector take advance of the compressing performance of More >
