    Xin Liu1,*, Meng Sun1, Bo Lin2, Shibo Gu1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.3, pp. 1053-1072, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2025.060489 - 07 March 2025

Abstract Long-term petroleum production forecasting is essential for the effective development and management of oilfields. Due to its ability to extract complex patterns, deep learning has gained popularity for production forecasting. However, existing deep learning models frequently overlook the selective utilization of information from other production wells, resulting in suboptimal performance in long-term production forecasting across multiple wells. To achieve accurate long-term petroleum production forecast, we propose a spatial-geological perception graph convolutional neural network (SGP-GCN) that accounts for the temporal, spatial, and geological dependencies inherent in petroleum production. Utilizing the attention mechanism, the SGP-GCN effectively captures… More >

    Xianfeng Zhou1,2,*, Ruiju Sun1, Zhaojie Zhang1, Yuanyuan Song1, Lijiao Jin1, Lin Yuan3

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.94, No.2, pp. 503-519, 2025, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2025.060827 - 06 March 2025

Abstract An accurate and robust estimation of leaf chlorophyll content (LCC) is very important to better know the process of material and energy exchange between plants and the environment. Compared with traditional remote sensing methods, abundant research has made progress in agronomic parameter retrieval using different CNN frameworks. Nevertheless, limited reports have paid attention to the problems, i.e., limited measured data, hyperspectral redundancy, and model convergence issues, when concerning CNN models for parameter estimation. Therefore, the present study tried to analyze the effects of synthetic data size expansion employing a Gaussian process regression (GPR) model for… More >

Abstract Background: The Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) model in physical education (PE) has been shown to promote Social and emotional competence (SEC). However, the underlying mechanisms through which TPSR enhances SEC, particularly in university students within the Chinese context, remain unclear. This study aims to explore the effects of TPSR and the mediating roles of self-efficacy and grit in improving SEC. Methods: 71 Chinese university students were in the TPSR group, and 39 in the Traditional Teaching Model (TTM) control group, assessed before and after a 14-week intervention. The Adapted Social and Emotional Competence… More >

    Mian Xia1,2, Baoguo Xie3,4, Lijun He5,*, Jingru Chen6

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 231-240, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2025.058878 - 03 March 2025

Abstract Objectives: Recently, how family-related factors influence employees’ mental health has garnered increasing attention from researchers and practitioners. Drawing on the cognitive appraisal theory of stress, this study aims to examine how and when family financial stress affects the employees’ mental health and investigate the mediating role of performance stress and the moderating role of workplace competition. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 23,520 Chinese employees by using a voluntary and anonymous structured questionnaire, which included family financial stress, performance stress, symptom checklist 90 (SCL-90) scale, and workplace competition. The data were analyzed using SPSS… More >

Effects of Water-Fertilizer Coupling on Growth Characteristics and Water Use Efficiency of Camellia petelotii Seedlings

    Liangyu Luo1,#, Ru Li1,#, Daocheng Ma1, Yijin Wang2,*, Linghui Wang1,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.93, No.11, pp. 2927-2947, 2024, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2024.056429 - 30 November 2024

Abstract Camellia petelotii (Merr.) Sealy is an endangered Chinese native species that originates from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Previous research demonstrated that proper water and fertilizer treatments could improve the growth and quality of Camellia species. This study uses a three-factor, five-level quadratic rotational combination experimental design to investigate the impact of water-fertilizer coupling on plant growth characteristics and the most suitable treatment for 24-month-old grafted C. petelotii seedlings. The experimental design includes irrigation levels [30%, 40%, 55%, 70%, 80% of field capacity (FC)], nitrogen application (0, 2.17, 5.43, 8.70, 10.87 g·plant−1), and phosphorus application (0, 0.96, 2.40,… More >

Mechanisms of Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue Crack Growth in a Polycrystalline Ni-Base Superalloy

    Lu Zhang1,*, Yuzhuo Wang1, Zhiwei Yu1, Rong Jiang1, Liguo Zhao1, Yingdong Song1,2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.30, No.3, pp. 1-2, 2024, DOI:10.32604/icces.2024.012701

Abstract Thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF), as the main failure mode of hot components of an aeroengine, are increasingly investigated recently [1,2]. TMF crack growth is studied in a nickel-based powder metallurgy (PM) superalloy subjected to in-phase (IP) and out-of-phase (OP), as well as isothermal fatigue (IF) at peak temperature. The crack growth rate and path are evaluated for both coarse grain (CG) and fine grain (FG) structure, especially the effects of phase angle and polycrystalline microstructure. The results show that the TMF crack propagation is mainly transgranular in OP condition; while in IP condition, crack propagates intergranularly… More >

Fast and Accurate Calculation on Competitive Adsorption Behavior in Shale Nanopores by Machine Learning Model

    Hao Yu1,*, Mengcheng Huang1

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.30, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2024, DOI:10.32604/icces.2024.011120

Abstract Understanding the competitive adsorption behavior of CO2 and CH4 in shale nanopores is crucial for enhancing the recovery of shale gas and sequestration of CO2, which is determined by both the inherent characteristics of the molecules and external environmental factors such as pore size, temperature, and partial pressures of CO2 and CH4. While the competitive adsorption behavior of CO2/CH4 has been analyzed by previous studies, a comprehensive understanding from the perspective of molecular kinetic theory and the efficient calculation for competitive adsorption behavior considering various geological situations is still challenging, limited by the huge computation cost of classical… More >

Integrated Transcriptomics and Metabolomics Analysis for the Mechanism Underlying White-to-Pink Petal Color Transition in Hibiscus mutabilis Flowers

Xiaodong Shi*, Tingyu Wang, Sui Ai, Jiasi Li

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.93, No.10, pp. 2571-2581, 2024, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2024.056606 - 30 October 2024

Abstract Cotton rose (Hibiscus mutabilis) is a well-known ornamental plant that produces large flowers of vibrant colors. However, metabolites in H. mutabilis flowers with vibrant color have not been fully understood. By performing a combined analysis of metabolomics and transcriptomics data, we here explored mechanisms for the production of primary active compounds in this plant. Multivariate statistics unveiled differences in flavonoid metabolism between white and pink flowers, with pink flowers exhibiting a greater flavonoid abundance. The white-to-pink transition of cotton rose flowers may be attributed to pelargonidin-3-O-glucoside formation. On examining the expression of genes related to the structure More > Graphic Abstract
