    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 4069-4084, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021846 - 07 December 2021

Abstract Renewable electricity options, such as fuel cells, solar photovoltaic, and batteries, are being integrated, which has made DC micro-grids famous. For DC micro-grid systems, a multi input interleaved non-isolated dc-dc converter is suggested by the use of coupled inductor techniques. Since it compensates for mismatches in photovoltaic devices and allows for separate and continuous power flow from these sources. The proposed converter has the benefits of high gain, a low ripple in the output voltage, minimal stress voltage across the power semiconductor devices, a low ripple in inductor current, high power density, and high efficiency.… More >

Load Frequency Control of Multi-interconnected Renewable Energy Plants Using Multi-Verse Optimizer

    Hegazy Rezk1,*, Mohamed A. Mohamed2, Ahmed A. Zaki Diab2, N. Kanagaraj1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 219-231, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.015543 - 01 March 2021

Abstract A reliable approach based on a multi-verse optimization algorithm (MVO) for designing load frequency control incorporated in multi-interconnected power system comprising wind power and photovoltaic (PV) plants is presented in this paper. It has been applied for optimizing the control parameters of the load frequency controller (LFC) of the multi-source power system (MSPS). The MSPS includes thermal, gas, and hydro power plants for energy generation. Moreover, the MSPS is integrated with renewable energy sources (RES). The MVO algorithm is applied to acquire the ideal parameters of the controller for controlling a single area and a More >

A Novel Polymorphic Topology with Hybrid Control Strategy Based LLC Resonant Converter for Ultra-Wide Input Voltage Range Applications

Chi Zhang, Yong Shi*, Xuwei Gui

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.2, pp. 341-361, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.014229 - 23 December 2020

Abstract To realize effective utilization of renewable energy sources, a novel polymorphic topology with hybrid control strategy based LLC resonant converter was analyzed and designed in this paper. By combining the merits of a full bridge LLC resonant converter, three-level half bridge LLC resonant converter, and variable frequency control mode, the converter realizes an intelligent estimation of input voltage by automatically changing its internal circuit topology. Under this control strategy, different input voltages determine different operation modes. This is achieved in full bridge LLC mode when the input voltage is low. If the input voltage rises More >
