A Comparative Study of Bayes Classifiers for Blade Fault Diagnosis in Wind Turbines through Vibration Signals

    A. Joshuva1, V. Sugumaran2

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.11, No.1, pp. 69-90, 2017, DOI:10.3970/sdhm.2017.012.069

Abstract Renewable energy sources are considered much in energy fields because of the contemporary energy calamities. Among the important alternatives being considered, wind energy is a durable competitor because of its dependability due to the development of the innovations, comparative cost effectiveness and great framework. To yield wind energy more proficiently, the structure of wind turbines has turned out to be substantially bigger, creating conservation and renovation works troublesome. Due to various ecological conditions, wind turbine blades are subjected to vibration and it leads to failure. If the failure is not diagnosed early, it will lead… More >

Knockdown of PARP-1 Inhibits Proliferation and ERK Signals, Increasing Drug Sensitivity in Osteosarcoma U2OS Cells

Sheng Li, Zhengli Cui, Xianfeng Meng

    Oncology Research, Vol.24, No.4, pp. 279-286, 2016, DOI:10.3727/096504016X14666990347554

Abstract Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1) is reported to be involved in DNA repair and is now recognized as a key regulator in carcinogenesis. However, the potential role and the molecular mechanism underlying the effect of PARP-1 on osteosarcoma (OS) cells have not been elucidated. In this study, the results showed that knockdown of PARP-1 resulted in decreased cell proliferation, increased cell apoptosis, and G0/G1 phase arrest in U2OS cells. In addition, increased expression of active caspase 3 and Bax, but reduced Bcl-2, cyclin D1, and phosphorylated extracellular signal regulated kinase 1/2 (pERK1/2) were observed in PARP-1 knockdown More >

Design of Processing System of Vibration Signals

Zeng Fan, Zhu shijian, Lou jingjun

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 5-6, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.019.005

Abstract A signal processing electric circuit used in vibration signals processing system has been designed, which contains the pre-amplifier, the single chip ATMEGA16 and the microprocessor programmable MAX262 and so on. Its feasibility test is carried out. The center frequency and other parameters are input into the computer by VC software programmed, and the computer sends these instructions to the single chip. The single chip controls MAX262 filter to work regularly and the noise signals are well filtered. The signals output from the data sampler are analyzed and processed, and the vibration signals can be clearly More >

Adhesive Models to Understand the Sensitivity of Bio-Molecules to Environmental Signals

    Shaohua Chen*

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.5, No.2, pp. 97-106, 2008, DOI:10.3970/mcb.2008.005.097

Abstract Recently, contact mechanics has been widely used to get some understanding of the biological adhesion mechanisms, such as cell-cell adhesion, insects' adhesion and locomotion. JKR theory is usually adopted as a basis, in which the interaction of molecules is considered in contrast to the classical Hertz solution. In this paper, two problems are summarized, which may give some insights to cells or bio-molecules sensitivity to environmental signals: (1) cell reorientation on a stretched substrate; (2) spontaneous detachment between cells or bio-molecules under the variation of environmental signals. The intention here is only to illustrate the… More >
