    Abstract A numerical computation of continuum-microscopic model for visco-elastic flows based on the Integrated Radial Basis Function (IRBF) Control Volume and the Stochastic Simulation Techniques (SST) is reported in this paper. The macroscopic flow equations are closed by a stochastic equation for the extra stress at the microscopic level. The former are discretised by a 1D-IRBF-CV method while the latter is integrated with Euler explicit or Predictor-Corrector schemes.     Abstract The partition of unity method is employed to incorporate the moving least square (MLS) and one dimensional-integrated radial basis function (1D-IRBFN) techniques in a new approach, namely local MLS-1D-IRBFN or LMLS-1D-IRBFN.     Abstract An investigation was conducted to evaluate the feasibility and the performance of an electrically heated composite leading edge for aircraft anti-icing applications. A prototype was designed, manufactured and equipped with a High Temperature composite leading edge with embedded Ni alloy resistance fed by a DC power supply unit. Running wet and fully evaporative functional modes have been verified both analytically and experimentally with reasonable agreement.     Abstract Calotropis species have been used in the traditional medicinal system for the treatment of diseases of the liver and abdomen. In view of the antioxidant and anti-hyperglycemic properties of an aqueous suspension obtained from the dried latex of Calotropis procera, the present study was carried out to evaluate its efficacy in affording protection against alloxan induced changes in rat kidney.     Abstract Bacterial artificial chromosome - fluorescence in situ hybridization (BAC-FISH) and cyclingprimed in situ labeling (C-PRINS) techniques were evaluated for integration of physical and genetic maps of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.). Single-site SSR markers were selected from three linkage groups of a high-density sunflower genetic map. This selection was based on previously identified QTL associated to S. sclerotiorum. These markers were used to select BACs contaning single copy sequences for BAC-FISH aplication.
