Effect of Freeze-Thaw Cycles on Chloride Transportation in Concrete: Prediction Model and Experiment

Yongdong Yan*, Youdong Si, Chunhua Lu, Keke Wu

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.17, No.3, pp. 225-238, 2023, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2022.022629 - 25 June 2023

Abstract This research aims to investigate the effect of frost damage on chloride transportation mechanism in ordinary and fiber concrete with both theoretical and experimental methods. The proposed theoretical model takes into account the varying damage levels caused by concrete cover depth and freeze-thaw cycles, which are the two primary parameters affecting the expression of the chloride diffusion coefficient. In the experiment, three types of concrete were prepared: ordinary Portland concrete (OPC), polypropylene fiber concrete (PFC), and steel fiber concrete (SFC). These were then immersed in NaCl solution for 120 days after undergoing 10, 25, and… More >

    Zhiliang Deng, Dong Wang*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.5, No.1, pp. 55-64, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2023.040252 - 14 June 2023

Abstract The issue of finding available parking spaces and mitigating congestion during parking is a persistent challenge for numerous car owners in urban areas. In this paper, we propose a novel method based on the A-star algorithm to calculate the optimal parking path to address this issue. We integrate a road impedance function into the conventional A-star algorithm to compute path duration and adopt a fusion function composed of path length and duration as the weight matrix for the A-star algorithm to achieve optimal path planning. Furthermore, we conduct simulations using parking lot modeling to validate More >

    Peng Liu1,*, Ke Xu1,2, Hua Gong1,2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.1, pp. 239-258, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038232 - 08 June 2023

Abstract Given the challenges of manufacturing resource sharing and competition in the modern manufacturing industry, the coordinated scheduling problem of parallel machine production and transportation is investigated. The problem takes into account the coordination of production and transportation before production as well as the disparities in machine spatial position and performance. A non-cooperative game model is established, considering the competition and self-interest behavior of jobs from different customers for machine resources. The job from different customers is mapped to the players in the game model, the corresponding optional processing machine and location are mapped to the… More >

Parameter Tuned Deep Learning Based Traffic Critical Prediction Model on Remote Sensing Imaging

    Sarkar Hasan Ahmed1, Adel Al-Zebari2, Rizgar R. Zebari3, Subhi R. M. Zeebaree4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.2, pp. 3993-4008, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.037464 - 31 March 2023

Abstract Remote sensing (RS) presents laser scanning measurements, aerial photos, and high-resolution satellite images, which are utilized for extracting a range of traffic-related and road-related features. RS has a weakness, such as traffic fluctuations on small time scales that could distort the accuracy of predicted road and traffic features. This article introduces an Optimal Deep Learning for Traffic Critical Prediction Model on High-Resolution Remote Sensing Images (ODLTCP-HRRSI) to resolve these issues. The presented ODLTCP-HRRSI technique majorly aims to forecast the critical traffic in smart cities. To attain this, the presented ODLTCP-HRRSI model performs two major processes. More >

Coordinated Scheduling of Two-Agent Production and Transportation Based on Non-Cooperative Game

    Ke Xu1,2, Peng Liu1,*, Hua Gong1,2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 3279-3294, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.036007 - 15 March 2023

Abstract A two-agent production and transportation coordinated scheduling problem in a single-machine environment is suggested to compete for one machine from different downstream production links or various consumers. The jobs of two agents compete for the processing position on a machine, and after the processed, they compete for the transport position on a transport vehicle to be transported to two agents. The two agents have different objective functions. The objective function of the first agent is the sum of the makespan and the total transportation time, whereas the objective function of the second agent is the… More >

    Yue Su1, Jingfa Li2,*, Bo Yu2, Yanlin Zhao1, Dongxu Han2, Dongliang Sun2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.2, pp. 1315-1337, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.026035 - 06 February 2023

Abstract With the introduction of various carbon reduction policies around the world, hydrogen energy, as a kind of clean energy with zero carbon emission, has attracted much attention. The safe and economical transportation of hydrogen is of great significance to the development of hydrogen energy industries. Utilizing natural gas pipelines to transport hydrogen is considered to be an efficient and economical way. However, hydrogen has a higher risk of leakage due to its strong diffusion capacity and lower explosive limit than conventional natural gas. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the leakage and diffusion… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract Traffic flow prediction in urban areas is essential in the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Short Term Traffic Flow (STTF) prediction impacts traffic flow series, where an estimation of the number of vehicles will appear during the next instance of time per hour. Precise STTF is critical in Intelligent Transportation System. Various extinct systems aim for short-term traffic forecasts, ensuring a good precision outcome which was a significant task over the past few years. The main objective of this paper is to propose a new model to predict STTF for every hour of a day. In… More >

Optimal Routing with Spatial-Temporal Dependencies for Traffic Flow Control in Intelligent Transportation Systems

    R. B. Sarooraj*, S. Prayla Shyry

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 2071-2084, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034716 - 05 January 2023

Abstract In Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), controlling the traffic flow of a region in a city is the major challenge. Particularly, allocation of the traffic-free route to the taxi drivers during peak hours is one of the challenges to control the traffic flow. So, in this paper, the route between the taxi driver and pickup location or hotspot with the spatial-temporal dependencies is optimized. Initially, the hotspots in a region are clustered using the density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) algorithm to find the hot spots at the peak hours in an urban area.… More >
