ANALYSIS OF CHAOTIC NATURAL CONVECTION IN A TALL RECTANGULAR CAVITY WITH NON-ISOTHERMAL WALLS

Heather Dillona , Ashley Emeryb,† , Ann Mescherb

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.4, No.2, pp. 1-9, 2013, DOI:10.5098/hmt.v4.2.3004

Abstract A computational model is presented that extends prior work on unsteady natural convection in a tall rectangular cavity with aspect ratio 10 and applies Proper Orthogonal Decomposition to the results. The solution to the weakly compressible Navier-Stokes equation is computed for a range of Rayleigh numbers between 2 × 107 and 2.2 × 108 with Prandtl number 0.71. A detailed spectral analysis shows dynamic system behavior beyond the Hopf bifurcation that was not previously observed. The wider Rayleigh range reveals new dynamic system behavior for the rectangular geometry, specifically a return to a stable oscillatory behavior More >

    Luoyin Feng1,*, Jize Du2, Chong Fu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1645-1662, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042630

Abstract In the era of network communication, digital image encryption (DIE) technology is critical to ensure the security of image data. However, there has been limited research on combining deep learning neural networks with chaotic mapping for the encryption of digital images. So, this paper addresses this gap by studying the generation of pseudo-random sequences (PRS) chaotic signals using dual logistic chaotic maps. These signals are then predicted using long and short-term memory (LSTM) networks, resulting in the reconstruction of a new chaotic signal. During the research process, it was discovered that there are numerous training… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 139-160, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.043424

Abstract In today’s information society, image encryption technology is crucial to protecting Internet security. However, traditional image encryption algorithms have problems such as insufficient chaotic characteristics, insufficient randomness of keys, and insecure Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) encoding. To address these issues, a chaos-RNA encryption scheme that combines chaotic maps and RNA encoding was proposed in this research. The initial values and parameters of the chaotic system are first generated using the Secure Hash Algorithm 384 (SHA-384) function and the plaintext image. Next, the Lü hyperchaotic system sequence was introduced to change the image’s pixel values to realize… More > Graphic Abstract

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.11, pp. 2469-2487, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.043021

Abstract Along with the increasing integration of renewable energy generation in AC-DC power networks, investigating the dynamic behaviors of this complex system with a proper equivalent model is significant. This paper presents an equivalent modeling method for the AC-DC power networks with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind farms to decrease the simulation scale and computational burden. For the AC-DC power networks, the equivalent modeling strategy in accordance with the physical structure simplification is stated. Regarding the DFIG-based wind farms, the equivalent modeling based on the sequential identification of multi-machine parameters using the improved chaotic cuckoo More >

Abstract Friction and wear phenomenon is a complex nonlinear system, and it is also a significant problem in the process of metal cutting. In order to systematically analyze the friction and wear process of tool material-workpiece material friction pair in the cutting process of high hardness alloy steel under different lubrication conditions, the chaotic characteristics of friction process between high hardness alloy steel and cemented carbide under the lubrication C60 nano-particles fluid are studied based on the chaos theory. Firstly, the friction and wear experiments of the friction pair between high hardness alloy steel and cemented… More >

    Tamilvizhi Thanarajan1, Youseef Alotaibi2, Surendran Rajendran3,*, Krishnaraj Nagappan4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.2, pp. 1995-2013, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039644

Abstract Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be defined as a neurodevelopmental condition or illness that can disturb kids who have heterogeneous characteristics, like changes in behavior, social disabilities, and difficulty communicating with others. Eye tracking (ET) has become a useful method to detect ASD. One vital aspect of moral erudition is the aptitude to have common visual attention. The eye-tracking approach offers valuable data regarding the visual behavior of children for accurate and early detection. Eye-tracking data can offer insightful information about the behavior and thought processes of people with ASD, but it is important to… More >

An Improved Honey Badger Algorithm through Fusing Multi-Strategies

    Zhiwei Ye1, Tao Zhao1, Chun Liu1,*, Daode Zhang1, Wanfang Bai2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.2, pp. 1479-1495, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038787

Abstract The Honey Badger Algorithm (HBA) is a novel meta-heuristic algorithm proposed recently inspired by the foraging behavior of honey badgers. The dynamic search behavior of honey badgers with sniffing and wandering is divided into exploration and exploitation in HBA, which has been applied in photovoltaic systems and optimization problems effectively. However, HBA tends to suffer from the local optimum and low convergence. To alleviate these challenges, an improved HBA (IHBA) through fusing multi-strategies is presented in the paper. It introduces Tent chaotic mapping and composite mutation factors to HBA, meanwhile, the random control parameter is More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 2361-2380, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.038439

Abstract Patient privacy and data protection have been crucial concerns in E-healthcare systems for many years. In modern-day applications, patient data usually holds clinical imagery, records, and other medical details. Lately, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), equipped with cloud computing, has come out to be a beneficial paradigm in the healthcare field. However, the openness of networks and systems leads to security threats and illegal access. Therefore, reliable, fast, and robust security methods need to be developed to ensure the safe exchange of healthcare data generated from various image sensing and other IoMT-driven devices in… More >

Thus, the progress of image encryption techniques is becoming an increasingly serious issue and considerable problem. Small space of the key, encryption-based low confidentiality, low key sensitivity, and easily exploitable existing image encryption techniques integrating chaotic system and DNA computing are purposing the main problems to propose a new encryption technique in this study. In our proposed scheme, a three-dimensional Chen’s map and a one-dimensional Logistic map are employed to construct a double-layer image encryption… More >

Abstract The chaotic motion behavior of the rectangular conductive thin plate that is simply supported on four sides by airflow and mechanical external excitation in a magnetic field is studied. According to Kirchhoff ’s thin plate theory, considering geometric nonlinearity and using the principle of virtual work, the nonlinear motion partial differential equation of the rectangular conductive thin plate is deduced. Using the separate variable method and Galerkin’s method, the system motion partial differential equation is converted into the general equation of the Duffing equation; the Hamilton system is introduced, and the Melnikov function is used More > Graphic Abstract
