    K. Gayathri Devi*, R. S. Mishra, A. K. Madan

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 429-448, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.019330 - 03 September 2021

Abstract An NP-hard problem like Flexible Job Shop Scheduling (FJSP) tends to be more complex and requires more computational effort to optimize the objectives with contradictory measures. This paper aims to address the FJSP problem with combined and contradictory objectives, like minimization of make-span, maximum workload, and total workload. This paper proposes ‘Hybrid Adaptive Firefly Algorithm’ (HAdFA), a new enhanced version of the classic Firefly Algorithm (FA) embedded with adaptive parameters to optimize the multi objectives concurrently. The proposed algorithm has adopted two adaptive strategies, i.e., an adaptive randomization parameter (α) and an effective heterogeneous update More >

Shafiul Islam, Lutful Hassan, Mohammad Anwar Hossain

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.91, No.1, pp. 97-114, 2022, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2022.017251 - 16 August 2021

Abstract Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is called ‘the poor man’s orange’ due to its low price and improved nutritional values. An experiment was conducted to study the breeding potential of some exotic tomato lines by assessing various qualitative and quantitative traits conferring yield and quality attributes. Among the qualitative traits, greater variability was observed for growth type, stem hairiness, and fruit shape and size. A determinate growth habit was observed in the genotype AVTO9802 while the genotype AVTO0102 produced yellow color fruits. A significant (p ≤ 0.01) variation was also observed for the studied quantitative traits. Based on… More >

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.16, No.6, pp. 647-653, 2021, DOI:10.32604/CHD.2021.016923 - 08 July 2021

Abstract A single coronary artery is a very rare condition, commonly associated with other congenital anomalies. It could be generally considered as neither benign nor malignant form of congenital coronary artery anomalies since its pathophysiological and clinical implications grossly depend on different anatomical patterns defined by the site of origin and distribution of the branches. By presenting the patient who underwent successful coronary artery bypass grafting and aortic valve replacement surgery in a presence of isolated single coronary artery, we intend to emphasize natural and procedural risks and distinguish casual from causal in this extremely rare More >

    İlyas Kacar*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.128, No.1, pp. 87-108, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.015227 - 28 June 2021

Abstract Locking nuts are widely used in industry and any defects from their manufacturing may cause loosening of the connection during their service life. In this study, simulations of the folding process of a nut’s flange made from AISI 1040 steel are performed. Besides the bilinear isotropic hardening rule, Chaboche’s nonlinear kinematic hardening rule is employed with associated flow rule and Hill48 yield criterion to set a plasticity model. The bilinear isotropic hardening rule’s parameters are determined by means of a monotonic tensile test. The Chaboche’s parameters are determined by using a low cycle tension/compression test… More >
