Abstract Introduction: Partial nephrectomy has a 3%-4% incidence of local treatment failure. This study is to present a series of percutaneous cryoablation for locally recurrent renal cell carcinoma after partial nephrectomy.
Materials and methods: Five consecutive patients were referred to our quaternary center’s multidisciplinary Small Renal Mass (SRM) Center for assessment after failure of partial nephrectomy. Abstract Introduction: Ureteral diverticulum is a rare urological condition with only 45 cases described in the literature. These previously reported cases vary in their presentation, diagnosis and management and there is no consensus in the literature on the best diagnostic tool available. Abstract Objectives. Insofar as recurrent spontaneous miscarriage (RSM) is linked with dysregulated immunity and inflammatory changes, and given the pro-inflammatory role of interleukin-21 (IL-21), we examined the association between IL-21 polymorphisms and RSM. Methods and results. IL-21 rs2055979, rs13143866, rs9992580, and rs4833837 were genotyped in 235 cases of RSM and 235 controls. Regression analysis was employed in assessing the contribution of IL-21 variants to the overall RSM risk. Office cystoscopy revealed two synchronous tumors of different morphology. Abstract Introduction: Controversy persists concerning the role of pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) in patients with clinically localized prostate cancer undergoing radical prostatectomy. The aim of this review is to critically evaluate the current status on PLND in prostate cancer.
Methods: A review of the literature was performed concerning radical prostatectomy and PLND with respect to oncological outcome, associated complications, nodal yield, indications and minimal number of nodes required.
