Internal Validity Index for Fuzzy Clustering Based on Relative Uncertainty

Refik Tanju Sirmen1,*, Burak Berk Üstündağ2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 2909-2926, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023947 - 29 March 2022

Abstract Unsupervised clustering and clustering validity are used as essential instruments of data analytics. Despite clustering being realized under uncertainty, validity indices do not deliver any quantitative evaluation of the uncertainties in the suggested partitionings. Also, validity measures may be biased towards the underlying clustering method. Moreover, neglecting a confidence requirement may result in over-partitioning. In the absence of an error estimate or a confidence parameter, probable clustering errors are forwarded to the later stages of the system. Whereas, having an uncertainty margin of the projected labeling can be very fruitful for many applications such as… More >

Tuning Rules for Fractional Order PID Controller Using Data Analytics

    P. R. Varshini*, S. Baskar, M. Varatharajan, S. Sadhana

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1787-1799, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024192 - 24 March 2022

    Abstract

Flexibility and robust performance have made the FOPID (Fractional Order PID) controllers a better choice than PID (Proportional, Integral, Derivative) controllers. But the number of tuning parameters decreases the usage of FOPID controllers. Using synthetic data in available FOPID tuners leads to abnormal controller performances limiting their applicability. Hence, a new tuning methodology involving real-time data and overcomes the drawbacks of mathematical modeling is the need of the hour. This paper proposes a novel FOPID controller tuning methodology using machine learning algorithms. Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.1, pp. 381-396, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.023321 - 23 March 2022

Abstract In the digital area, Internet of Things (IoT) and connected objects generate a huge quantity of data traffic which feeds big data analytic models to discover hidden patterns and detect abnormal traffic. Though IoT networks are popular and widely employed in real world applications, security in IoT networks remains a challenging problem. Conventional intrusion detection systems (IDS) cannot be employed in IoT networks owing to the limitations in resources and complexity. Therefore, this paper concentrates on the design of intelligent metaheuristic optimization based feature selection with deep learning (IMFSDL) based classification model, called IMFSDL-IDS for… More >

    Malini M. Patil1,*, P. M. Rekha1, Arun Solanki2, Anand Nayyar3,4, Basit Qureshi5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 2347-2361, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021447 - 07 December 2021

Abstract In the past few decades, climatic changes led by environmental pollution, the emittance of greenhouse gases, and the emergence of brown energy utilization have led to global warming. Global warming increases the Earth's temperature, thereby causing severe effects on human and environmental conditions and threatening the livelihoods of millions of people. Global warming issues are the increase in global temperatures that lead to heat strokes and high-temperature-related diseases during the summer, causing the untimely death of thousands of people. To forecast weather conditions, researchers have utilized machine learning algorithms, such as autoregressive integrated moving average,… More >

An Enhanced Memetic Algorithm for Feature Selection in Big Data Analytics with MapReduce

    Umanesan Ramakrishnan1,*, Nandhagopal Nachimuthu2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.3, pp. 1547-1559, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.017123 - 09 October 2021

Abstract Recently, various research fields have begun dealing with massive datasets forseveral functions. The main aim of a feature selection (FS) model is to eliminate noise, repetitive, and unnecessary featuresthat reduce the efficiency of classification. In a limited period, traditional FS models cannot manage massive datasets and filterunnecessary features. It has been discovered from the state-of-the-art literature that metaheuristic algorithms perform better compared to other FS wrapper-based techniques. Common techniques such as the Genetic Algorithm (GA) andParticle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, however, suffer from slow convergence and local optima problems. Even with new generation algorithms such… More >
