    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 2013-2029, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.018719

Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) has become a major technological development which offers smart infrastructure for the cloud-edge services by the interconnection of physical devices and virtual things among mobile applications and embedded devices. The e-healthcare application solely depends on the IoT and cloud computing environment, has provided several characteristics and applications. Prior research works reported that the energy consumption for transmission process is significantly higher compared to sensing and processing, which led to quick exhaustion of energy. In this view, this paper introduces a new energy efficient cluster enabled clinical decision support system (EEC-CDSS) for embedded IoT environment. The presented… More >

Cloud-Based Diabetes Decision Support System Using Machine Learning Fusion

    Shabib Aftab1,2, Saad Alanazi3, Munir Ahmad1, Muhammad Adnan Khan4,*, Areej Fatima5, Nouh Sabri Elmitwally3,6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 1341-1357, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016814

Abstract Diabetes mellitus, generally known as diabetes, is one of the most common diseases worldwide. It is a metabolic disease characterized by insulin deficiency, or glucose (blood sugar) levels that exceed 200 mg/dL (11.1 ml/L) for prolonged periods, and may lead to death if left uncontrolled by medication or insulin injections. Diabetes is categorized into two main types—type 1 and type 2—both of which feature glucose levels above “normal,” defined as 140 mg/dL. Diabetes is triggered by malfunction of the pancreas, which releases insulin, a natural hormone responsible for controlling glucose levels in blood cells. Diagnosis and comprehensive analysis of this… More >

Computer Decision Support System for Skin Cancer Localization and Classification

    Muhammad Attique Khan1, Tallha Akram2, Muhammad Sharif1, Seifedine Kadry3, Yunyoung Nam4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 1041-1064, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016307

Abstract In this work, we propose a new, fully automated system for multiclass skin lesion localization and classification using deep learning. The main challenge is to address the problem of imbalanced data classes, found in HAM10000, ISBI2018, and ISBI2019 datasets. Initially, we consider a pre-trained deep neural network model, DarkeNet19, and fine-tune the parameters of third convolutional layer to generate the image gradients. All the visualized images are fused using a High-Frequency approach along with Multilayered Feed-Forward Neural Network (HFaFFNN). The resultant image is further enhanced by employing a log-opening based activation function to generate a localized binary image. Later, two… More >

Applications of Decision Support System: A Case Study of Solanaceous Vegetables

    Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Akbar Anjum*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.90, No.2, pp. 331-352, 2021, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2021.011685

Abstract Crop simulation models constitute the major proportion in decision support systems. A large number of crop models have been developed for potato and few for tomato and peppers. In the literature, thirty three crop models have been reported to simulate potato, nine for tomato and six for peppers. Some of these models dealt with the climate change scenario and others with the crop management practices such as sowing time, irrigation, nitrogen, and insect-pests management. The most evaluated and applied models for potato include; SUBSTOR, and LINTUL-Potato, whereas CROPGRO-tomato model is the most tested and applied for tomato. The AQUACROP is… More >

Decision Support System Tool for Arabic Text Recognition

Fatmah Baothman*, Sarah Alssagaff, Bayan Ashmeel

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 519-531, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.014828

Abstract The National Center for Education Statistics study reported that 80% of students change their major or institution at least once before getting a degree, which requires a course equivalency process. This error-prone process varies among disciplines, institutions, regions, and countries and requires effort and time. Therefore, this study aims to overcome these issues by developing a decision support tool called TiMELY for automatic Arabic text recognition using artificial intelligence techniques. The developed tool can process a complete document analysis for several course descriptions in multiple file formats, such as Word, Text, Pages, JPEG, GIF, and JPG. We applied a comparative… More >

Research on Agent-Based Economic Decision Model Systems

    Chenxi Liu1, Suchun Yang2,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.5, pp. 1035-1046, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.010135

Abstract Based on an analysis of the development of economic decision support systems, agents are applied to construct intelligent economic decision support systems. This paper proposes a task-oriented agent design concept and designs multiple types of agents to complete the decision-making tasks with the task as the core. The structure of multi-agent based systems is provided, and the concrete realization structure of different types of agents in the system is also provided. Additionally, this study discusses the operational mechanism of the whole system and the cooperation between multiple agents in the system. Finally, these functions are implemented through a combination of… More >
