    Samah Ibrahim Alshathri1,*, Desiree Juby Vincent2, V. S. Hari2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 1371-1386, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.022458 - 03 November 2021

Abstract Invoice document digitization is crucial for efficient management in industries. The scanned invoice image is often noisy due to various reasons. This affects the OCR (optical character recognition) detection accuracy. In this paper, letter data obtained from images of invoices are denoised using a modified autoencoder based deep learning method. A stacked denoising autoencoder (SDAE) is implemented with two hidden layers each in encoder network and decoder network. In order to capture the most salient features of training samples, a undercomplete autoencoder is designed with non-linear encoder and decoder function. This autoencoder is regularized for… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.2, pp. 735-749, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020533 - 25 October 2021

Abstract Breast cancer has become the second leading cause of death among women worldwide. In India, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every four minutes. There has been no known basis behind it, and detection is extremely challenging among medical scientists and researchers due to unknown reasons. In India, the ratio of women being identified with breast cancer in urban areas is 22:1. Symptoms for this disease are micro calcification, lumps, and masses in mammogram images. These sources are mostly used for early detection. Digital mammography is used for breast cancer detection. In this study,… More >

    Amgad Muneer1,2,*, Shakirah Mohd Taib1,2, Suliman Mohamed Fati3, Abdullateef O. Balogun1, Izzatdin Abdul Aziz1,2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 5363-5381, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021113 - 11 October 2021

Abstract Anomaly detection in high dimensional data is a critical research issue with serious implication in the real-world problems. Many issues in this field still unsolved, so several modern anomaly detection methods struggle to maintain adequate accuracy due to the highly descriptive nature of big data. Such a phenomenon is referred to as the “curse of dimensionality” that affects traditional techniques in terms of both accuracy and performance. Thus, this research proposed a hybrid model based on Deep Autoencoder Neural Network (DANN) with five layers to reduce the difference between the input and output. The proposed… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 6107-6125, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020698 - 11 October 2021

Abstract Effective medical diagnosis is dramatically expensive, especially in third-world countries. One of the common diseases is pneumonia, and because of the remarkable similarity between its types and the limited number of medical images for recent diseases related to pneumonia, the medical diagnosis of these diseases is a significant challenge. Hence, transfer learning represents a promising solution in transferring knowledge from generic tasks to specific tasks. Unfortunately, experimentation and utilization of different models of transfer learning do not achieve satisfactory results. In this study, we suggest the implementation of an automatic detection model, namely CADTra, to… More >

    I. Kalphana1,*, T. Kesavamurthy2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.1, pp. 171-185, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.019799 - 08 October 2021

Abstract Higher transmission rate is one of the technological features of prominently used wireless communication namely Multiple Input Multiple Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO–OFDM). One among an effective solution for channel estimation in wireless communication system, specifically in different environments is Deep Learning (DL) method. This research greatly utilizes channel estimator on the basis of Convolutional Neural Network Auto Encoder (CNNAE) classifier for MIMO-OFDM systems. A CNNAE classifier is one among Deep Learning (DL) algorithm, in which video signal is fed as input by allotting significant learnable weights and biases in various aspects/objects for video signal More >

Abstract Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is one of the efficient and flexible modulation techniques, and which is considered as the central part of many wired and wireless standards. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) achieves maximum spectral efficiency and data rates for wireless mobile communication systems. Though it offers better quality of services, high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is the major issue that needs to be resolved in the MIMO-OFDM system. Earlier studies have addressed the high PAPR of OFDM system using clipping, coding, selected mapping, tone injection, peak windowing, etc. Recently, deep… More >

Abstract The exponential increase in new coronavirus disease 2019 ({COVID-19}) cases and deaths has made COVID-19 the leading cause of death in many countries. Thus, in this study, we propose an efficient technique for the automatic detection of COVID-19 and pneumonia based on X-ray images. A stacked denoising convolutional autoencoder (SDCA) model was proposed to classify X-ray images into three classes: normal, pneumonia, and {COVID-19}. The SDCA model was used to obtain a good representation of the input data and extract the relevant features from noisy images. The proposed model’s architecture mainly composed of eight autoencoders, More >
