    Tubing Dimension Optimization for the Development of an Offshore Gasfield

    Abstract L1 is one of the largest offshore gas fields currently under development. In order to optimize the related design, nodal analysis is applied (including proper consideration of the plant productivity, sensitivity to the tubing size, erosion effects, liquid carrying performance, and tubing string). As a result of such approach, it is shown that 13Cr material should be chosen as the appropriate tubing material.     Effect of Alternation of Aging and Seawater Erosion on Properties of Rubber Material Used in Lead Rubber Bearing

    Abstract An artificially accelerated alternation of aging and seawater erosion test of rubber materials used in lead rubber bearing (LRB) was performed, mainly to study the time-varying laws of rubber materials mechanical properties. Time-varying laws of the Mooney–Rivlin and Neo-Hookean constitutive parameters of rubber materials under the alternation of aging and seawater erosion were also analyzed. Results indicate that the rubber material mechanical properties were significantly affected by alternation of aging and seawater erosion.     Abstract Detailed information is provided for the design and construction of nitrogen drilling in a coal seam. Two prototype wells are considered. The Guo model is used to calculate the required minimum gas injection rate, while the Finnie, Sommerfeld, and Tulsa models are exploited to estimate the ensuing erosion occurring in pipe strings. The calculated minimum gas injection rates are 67.4 m3/min (with water) and 49.4 m3/min (without water), and the actual field of use is 90–120 m3/min.     Abstract To troubleshoot two problems arising from the segmentation of manganese nodule images-uneven illumination and morphological defects caused by white sand coverage, we propose, with reference to features of manganese nodules, a method called “background gray value calculation”.
