    Tian Li1,2,*, Hao Liang1, Zerui Xiang2, Jiye Zhang1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.2, pp. 463-473, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.043618 - 14 December 2023

Abstract A relatively high aerodynamic drag is an important factor that hinders the further acceleration of high-speed trains. Using the shear stress transport (SST) k-ω turbulence model, the effect of various vortex generator types on the aerodynamic characteristics of an ICE2 (Inter-city Electricity) train has been investigated. The results indicate that the vortex generators with wider triangle, trapezoid, and micro-ramp arranged on the surface of the tail car can significantly change the distribution of surface pressure and affect the vorticity intensity in the wake. This alteration effectively reduces the resistance of the tail car. Meanwhile, the micro-ramp More > Graphic Abstract

Tian Ma, Chenhui Fu*, Jiayi Yang, Jiehui Zhang, Chuyang Shang

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 1103-1122, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042416 - 31 October 2023

Abstract Low-light image enhancement methods have limitations in addressing issues such as color distortion, lack of vibrancy, and uneven light distribution and often require paired training data. To address these issues, we propose a two-stage unsupervised low-light image enhancement algorithm called Retinex and Exposure Fusion Network (RF-Net), which can overcome the problems of over-enhancement of the high dynamic range and under-enhancement of the low dynamic range in existing enhancement algorithms. This algorithm can better manage the challenges brought about by complex environments in real-world scenarios by training with unpaired low-light images and regular-light images. In the… More >

Analysis of Sub-Synchronous Oscillation of Virtual Synchronous Generator and Research on Suppression Strategy in Weak Grid

Chongyang Zhao, Wei Chai, Beibei Rui, Lin Chen*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.11, pp. 2683-2705, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.029620 - 31 October 2023

Abstract At present, the direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator (DD-PMSG) grid connected system based on virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control will experience power oscillation at sub synchronous frequencies. The mechanism and characteristics of this new type of sub-synchronous interaction (SSI) are not yet clear, and the system cannot recover to steady state solely based on the characteristics of VSG itself. Especially when connected to a weak current network, oscillations are more pronounced, affecting the stability of the system. In severe cases, the system may trigger shutdown protection and be disconnected from the network. Existing research More >

Giant Flexoelectric Effect of Polymeric Porous Composite and Its Applications

    Dongze Yan1, Jianxiang Wang2, Lihua Shao1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.1, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09357

Abstract Non-uniform strains produce a localized break in the microscopic inverse symmetry of materials, which leads to the electromechanical coupling phenomenon known as flexoelectricity in all dielectric materials. However, the size-dependent flexoelectric effect typically only manifests at small scales. Creating a considerable flexoelectric output at the macroscopic scale remains a bottleneck. Micro- and nano-porous materials own a significant number of randomly distributed microscopic pores and ligamentous structures, which can deform non-uniformly under arbitrary forms of macroscopic loading. Moreover, since the small size effect of flexoelectricity, the entire flexoelectricity of the micro- and nano-porous materials will be… More >
