A Fault Feature Extraction Model in Synchronous Generator under Stator Inter-Turn Short Circuit Based on ACMD and DEO3S

Yuling He, Shuai Li, Chao Zhang*, Xiaolong Wang

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 115-130, 2023, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2023.022317 - 09 May 2023

Abstract This paper proposed a new diagnosis model for the stator inter-turn short circuit fault in synchronous generators. Different from the past methods focused on the current or voltage signals to diagnose the electrical fault, the stator vibration signal analysis based on ACMD (adaptive chirp mode decomposition) and DEO3S (demodulation energy operator of symmetrical differencing) was adopted to extract the fault feature. Firstly, FT (Fourier transform) is applied to the vibration signal to obtain the instantaneous frequency, and PE (permutation entropy) is calculated to select the proper weighting coefficients. Then, the signal is decomposed by ACMD, More >

    Babu H. Soumya1,*, N. Vijayakumar2, K. Gopakumar3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 1197-1207, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031575 - 29 April 2023

Abstract The Henon map forms one of the most-studied two-dimensional discrete-time dynamical systems that exhibits chaotic behavior. The Henon map takes a point in the plane and maps it to a new point . In this paper, a chaotic pulse generator based on the chaotic Henon map is proposed. It consists of a Henon map function subcircuit to realize the Henon map and another subcircuit to perform the iterative operation. The Henon map subcircuit comprises operational amplifiers, multipliers, delay elements and resistors, whereas, the iterative subcircuit is implemented with a simple design that comprises of an More >

EFFECT OF EVAPORATOR DIAMETERS ON PERFORMANCES OF A CUSTOM AIR WATER GENERATOR

Mirmanto Mirmantoa,*, Syahrul Syahrula, Agung Tri Wijayantab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-5, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.9

Abstract A study to examine the effect of evaporator diameters on the performances of a custom air-water generator had been conducted in naturally room air temperatures. Performances in this study consisted of fresh water production, coefficient of performance, and total heat transfer from the air. The freshwater was attained from the dew that dropped from the evaporator walls. It was from water vapour in the air that condensed due to the low temperature of the evaporator walls. The evaporator which had dimensions of 285 mm x 12.7 mm x 480 mm was placed in an open More >

Virtual Synchronous Generator Adaptive Control of Energy Storage Power Station Based on Physical Constraints

    Yunfan Huang1, Qingquan Lv2, Zhenzhen Zhang2, Haiying Dong1,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.6, pp. 1401-1420, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.027365 - 03 April 2023

Abstract The virtual synchronous generator (VSG) can simulate synchronous machine’s operation mechanism in the control link of an energy storage converter, so that an electrochemical energy storage power station has the ability to actively support the power grid, from passive regulation to active support. Since energy storage is an important physical basis for realizing the inertia and damping characteristics in VSG control, energy storage constraints of the physical characteristics on the system control parameters are analyzed to provide a basis for the system parameter tuning. In a classic VSG control, its virtual inertia and damping coefficient… More >

Research on Virtual DC Generator-Based Control Strategy of DC Microgrid with Photovoltaic and Energy Storage

Feng Zhao, Chengrui Xiao*, Xiaoqiang Chen, Ying Wang

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.6, pp. 1353-1370, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025976 - 03 April 2023

Abstract With the penetration of a large number of photovoltaic power generation units and power electronic converters, the DC microgrid shows low inertia characteristics, which might affect the stable operation of the microgrid in extreme cases. In order to enhance the “flexible features” of the interface converter connected to the DC bus, a control strategy of DC microgrid with photovoltaic and energy storage based on the virtual DC generator (VDCG) is proposed in this paper. The interface converters of the photovoltaic power generation system and the energy storage system simulates the inertia and damping characteristics of More >

    Kyeongseok Jang1, Seongsoo Cho2, Kwang Chul Son3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.2, pp. 3537-3551, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.030557 - 31 March 2023

Abstract In the proposed paper, a parallel structure type Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) using edge and texture information is proposed. In the existing GAN-based model, many learning iterations had to be given to obtaining an output that was somewhat close to the original data, and noise and distortion occurred in the output image even when learning was performed. To solve this problem, the proposed model consists of two generators and three discriminators to propose a network in the form of a parallel structure. In the network, each edge information and texture information were received as inputs, More >

    Xiujun Zhang1, Muhammad Salman2, Anam Rani3, Rashna Tanveer2, Usman Ali3,*, Zehui Shao4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 883-899, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.025162 - 05 January 2023

Abstract The distance between two vertices u and v in a connected graph G is the number of edges lying in a shortest path (geodesic) between them. A vertex x of G performs the metric identification for a pair (u, v) of vertices in G if and only if the equality between the distances of u and v with x implies that u = v (That is, the distance between u and x is different from the distance between v and x). The minimum number of vertices performing the metric identification for every pair of vertices in G defines the metric dimension of G. In this More >

Abstract With the increasing integration of new energy generation into the power system and the massive withdrawal of traditional fossil fuel generation, the power system is faced with a large number of stability problems. The phenomenon of low-frequency oscillation caused by lack of damping and moment of inertia is worth studying. In recent years, virtual synchronous generator (VSG) technique has been developed rapidly because it can provide considerable damping and moment of inertia. While improving the stability of the system, it also inevitably causes the problem of active power oscillation, especially the low mutual damping between… More >

    N. Kanagaraj*, Mohammed Al-Ansi

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.1, pp. 769-784, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.029457 - 16 August 2022

Abstract In this research, a modified fractional order proportional integral derivate (FOPID) control method is proposed for the photovoltaic (PV) and thermoelectric generator (TEG) combined hybrid renewable energy system. The faster tracking and steady-state output are aimed at the suggested maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control technique. The derivative order number (µ) value in the improved FOPID (also known as PIλDµ) control structure will be dynamically updated utilizing the value of change in PV array voltage output. During the transient, the value of µ is changeable; it’s one at the start and after reaching the maximum power… More >

Abstract The utilization of vortex generators to increase heat transfer from cylinders installed inside a duct is investigated. In particular, a channel containing eight cylinders with volumetric heat sources is considered for different values of the Reynolds number. The effective possibility to use vortex generators with different sizes to increase heat transfer and, consequently, reduce the surface temperature of the cylinders is examined. Also, the amount of pressure drop inside the channel due to the presence of vortex generators is considered and compared with the cases without vortex generators. The results show that although the addition More >
