    Hui Yin1, Dejie Yu1,2, Shengwen Yin1, Baizhan Xia1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.109-110, No.3, pp. 221-246, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.109.221

Abstract This paper presents a new hybrid Chebyshev-perturbation method (HCPM) for the prediction of acoustic field with random and interval parameters. In HCPM, the perturbation method based on the first-order Taylor series that accounts for the random uncertainty is organically integrated with the first-order Chebyshev polynomials that deal with the interval uncertainty; specifically, a random interval function is firstly expanded with the first-order Taylor series by treating the interval variables as constants, and the expressions of the expectation and variance can be obtained by using the random moment method; then the expectation and variance of the More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.107, No.2, pp. 125-153, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.107.125

Abstract Applying an efficient numerical wave absorption method is very important for realization of an open sea condition especially for long time numerical fluid structure interaction simulation. This paper proposed a hybrid numerical wave absorption method for the fully nonlinear fluid structure simulation. A numerical code “QBEM” which is based on the quadratic boundary element method is applied to evaluate the efficiency of the wave absorption methods and damping schemes by checking the energy conservation and wave elevation in the computational domain. Specifically, we conduct a 3D numerical wave tank experiment to find the bestperforming damping More >

Abstract Present study is concerned with three dimensional natural frequency analysis of functionally graded sandwich rectangular plates using Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method and Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs).The plate consists of two homogeneous face sheets and a power-law FGM core. Natural frequencies of the plate are obtained by 3D MLPG method and are verified with available references. Convergence study of the first four natural frequencies for different node numbers is the next step. Also, effects of two parameters of “FG core to plate thickness ratio” and “volume fraction index” on natural frequencies of plate are investigated. More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.105, No.1, pp. 47-68, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.105.047

Abstract The functions of digital signature and public key encryption are simultaneously fulfilled by signcryption, which is a cryptographic primitive. To securely communicate very large messages, the cryptographic primitive called signcryption efficiently implements the same and while most of the public key based systems are suitable for small messages, hybrid encryption (KEM-DEM) provides a competent and practical way. In this paper, we develop a hybrid signcryption technique. The hybrid signcryption is based on the KEM and DEM technique. The KEM algorithm utilizes the KDF technique to encapsulate the symmetric key. The DEM algorithm utilizes the Adaptive More >

A New Minimax Probabilistic Approach and Its Application in Recognition the Purity of Hybrid Seeds

    Liming Yang1, Yongping Gao2, Qun Sun3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.104, No.6, pp. 493-506, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.104.493

Abstract Minimax probability machine (MPM) has been recently proposed and shown its advantage in pattern recognition. In this paper, we present a new minimax probabilistic approach (MPA),which can provide an explicit lower bound on prediction accuracy. Applying the Chebyshev-Cantelli inequality, the MPA is posed as a second order cone program formulation and solved effectively. Following that, this method is exploited directly to recognize the purity of hybrid seeds using near-infrared spectroscopic data. Experimental results in different spectral regions show that the proposed MPA is competitive with the existing minimax probability machine and support vector machine in More >

    C.M.T. Tien1, N. Pham-Sy1, N. Mai-Duy1, C.-D. Tran1, T. Tran-Cong1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.104, No.4, pp. 251-304, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.104.251

Abstract This paper presents a high-order coupled compact integrated RBF (CC IRBF) approximation based domain decomposition (DD) algorithm for the discretisation of second-order differential problems. Several Schwarz DD algorithms, including one-level additive/ multiplicative and two-level additive/ multiplicative/ hybrid, are employed. The CCIRBF based DD algorithms are analysed with different mesh sizes, numbers of subdomains and overlap sizes for Poisson problems. Our convergence analysis shows that the CCIRBF two-level multiplicative version is the most effective algorithm among various schemes employed here. Especially, the present CCIRBF two-level method converges quite rapidly even when the domain is divided into… More >

    Xing Wei1,2, Wen Chen1,3, Bin Chen1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.48, No.1, pp. 1-23, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2015.048.001

Abstract The thermal residual stress in the fabrication of functionally graded material (FGM) systems can give rise to various mechanical failures. For a FGM system under a given fabrication environment, the thermal residual stresses are determined by the spatial distribution of its constituent components. In this study, we optimize a Ni/Al2O3 FGM plate aiming at minimizing the thermal residual stresses through controlling its compositional distribution. Material properties are graded in the thickness direction following a power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of constituents (P-FGM). An analytical model and a hybrid genetic algorithm with the More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.2, No.3, pp. 235-245, 2014, DOI:10.7569/JRM.2014.634115

Abstract Renewable resource-based hybrid crosslinker was successfully synthesized via sol-gel technology. The synthesis involved malenization of Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) followed by its silane modifi cation and subsequent hydrolysis and condensation with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The synthesized crosslinker was characterized by spectroscopic analysis (FT-IR, 1 H-NMR, 13C-NMR and 29Si-NMR) for structural elucidation. The crosslinker was further formulated in a conventional stoving system. Fully-cured coatings were obtained after stoving at 120°C for ½ hr and were then evaluated for physical, mechanical, chemical, optical, accelerated weathering, electrochemical and morphological properties. The incorporation of hybrid crosslinker in a conventional stoving More >
