    Impact of Social Determinants of Health on Self-Perceived Resilience: An Exploratory Study of Two Cohorts of Adults with Congenital Heart Disease

    Abstract Social determinants of health (SDOH) affect quality of life. We investigated SDOH impacts on self-perceived resilience among people with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). Secondary analysis of data from two complementary studies: a survey study conducted May 2021–June 2022 and a qualitative study conducted June 2020–August 2021. Resilience was assessed through CD-RISC10 score (range 0–40, higher scores reflect greater self-perceived resilience) and interview responses.     Abstract This paper presents a study of the impact of the resonance tube on performance of a thermoacoustic stack. The resonance tube is a key component of a standing-wave thermoacoustic refrigerator. The appropriated resonance tube’s length leads to an increase of performance of the stack in terms of the temperature difference. The results also indicate that the optimal operating frequency differs from the design based on the equation of a half-wavelength.     Abstract In this paper, a numerical study is performed to investigate the effects of thermal shrinkage on the deposition of molten particles on a substrate in a thermal spray process using the Volume-of-Fluid (VOF) method. Thermal shrinkage is a phenomenon caused by the variation of density during cooling and solidification of a molten metal.     Abstract Graphene aerogel (GA), as a novel solid material, has shown great potential in engineering applications due to its unique mechanical properties. In this study, the mechanical performance of GA under high-velocity projectile impacts is thoroughly investigated using full-atomic molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The study results show that the porous structure and density are key factors determining the mechanical response of GA under impact loading.     Abstract A novel approach for analyzing coupled vibrations between vehicles and bridges is presented, taking into account spatiotemporal effects and mechanical phenomena resulting from vehicle braking. Efficient modeling and solution of bridge vibrations induced by vehicle deceleration are realized using this method.     Abstract As adolescent mental health problems are becoming a more serious issue globally, this paper explores the relationship of physical activity in adolescents and its frequency on mental health as well as examines the mediating effects of life satisfaction and self-rated health in order to provide a reference for the promotion of mental health in adolescents. A sample of 3578 Chinese high school students completed questionnaires assessing their mental health, physical activity frequency, life satisfaction, and self-rated health.     Impact of Financial Stress, Parental Expectation and Test Anxiety on Role of Suicidal Ideation: A Cross-Sectional Study among Pre-Medical Students

    Abstract This study examined the effects of financial stress, parental expectation and test anxiety on suicidal ideation in pre-medical students. For this purpose, a cross-sectional research design was used, and data were collected through a non-probability sampling technique. The sample consisted of 425 pre-medical students. Our results indicate a strong and positive association between parental expectation and suicidal ideation (β = 0.272; t = 3.573; p < 0.000).
