Muhammad Imran Khan Khalil1, Syed Adeel Ali Shah1, Izaz Ahmad Khan2, Mohammad Hijji3, Muhammad Shiraz4, Qaisar Shaheen5,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.3, pp. 6305-6322, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038163 - 29 April 2023

Abstract Data centers are being distributed worldwide by cloud service providers (CSPs) to save energy costs through efficient workload allocation strategies. Many CSPs are challenged by the significant rise in user demands due to their extensive energy consumption during workload processing. Numerous research studies have examined distinct operating cost mitigation techniques for geo-distributed data centers (DCs). However, operating cost savings during workload processing, which also considers string-matching techniques in geo-distributed DCs, remains unexplored. In this research, we propose a novel string matching-based geographical load balancing (SMGLB) technique to mitigate the operating cost of the geo-distributed DC.… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.1, pp. 513-529, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.035139 - 06 February 2023

Abstract Virtual Machines are the core of cloud computing and are utilized to get the benefits of cloud computing. Other essential features include portability, recovery after failure, and, most importantly, creating the core mechanism for load balancing. Several study results have been reported in enhancing load-balancing systems employing stochastic or biogenetic optimization methods. It examines the underlying issues with load balancing and the limitations of present load balance genetic optimization approaches. They are criticized for using higher-order probability distributions, more complicated solution search spaces, and adding factors to improve decision-making skills. Thus, this paper explores the More >

A Novel Gradient Boosted Energy Optimization Model (GBEOM) for MANET

    Neenavath Veeraiah1,*, Youseef Alotaibi2, Saleh Alghamdi3, Satish Thatavarti4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 637-657, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.034224 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is an infrastructure-less network that is comprised of a set of nodes that move randomly. In MANET, the overall performance is improved through multipath multicast routing to achieve the quality of service (quality of service). In this, different nodes are involved in the information data collection and transmission to the destination nodes in the network. The different nodes are combined and presented to achieve energy-efficient data transmission and classification of the nodes. The route identification and routing are established based on the data broadcast by the network nodes. In transmitting… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 1215-1231, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032509 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Advancements in cloud computing and virtualization technologies have revolutionized Enterprise Application Development with innovative ways to design and develop complex systems. Microservices Architecture is one of the recent techniques in which Enterprise Systems can be developed as fine-grained smaller components and deployed independently. This methodology brings numerous benefits like scalability, resilience, flexibility in development, faster time to market, etc. and the advantages; Microservices bring some challenges too. Multiple microservices need to be invoked one by one as a chain. In most applications, more than one chain of microservices runs in parallel to complete a particular… More >

Classification of Request-Based Mobility Load Balancing in Fog Computing

    D. Deepa, K. R. Jothi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 137-151, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032485 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Every day, more and more data is being produced by the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. IoT data differ in amount, diversity, veracity, and velocity. Because of latency, various types of data handling in cloud computing are not suitable for many time-sensitive applications. When users move from one site to another, mobility also adds to the latency. By placing computing close to IoT devices with mobility support, fog computing addresses these problems. An efficient Load Balancing Algorithm (LBA) improves user experience and Quality of Service (QoS). Classification of Request (CoR) based Resource Adaptive LBA is… More >

    Manar Ahmed Hamza1,2,*, Aisha Hassan Abdalla Hashim1, Dalia H. Elkamchouchi3, Nadhem Nemri4, Jaber S. Alzahrani5, Amira Sayed A. Aziz6, Mnahel Ahmed Ibrahim7, Abdelwahed Motwakel2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 1711-1726, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.031467 - 03 November 2022

Abstract Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of a group of limited energy source sensors that are installed in a particular region to collect data from the environment. Designing the energy-efficient data collection methods in large-scale wireless sensor networks is considered to be a difficult area in the research. Sensor node clustering is a popular approach for WSN. Moreover, the sensor nodes are grouped to form clusters in a cluster-based WSN environment. The battery performance of the sensor nodes is likewise constrained. As a result, the energy efficiency of WSNs is critical. In specific, the energy usage… More >

Fuzzy Firefly Based Intelligent Algorithm for Load Balancing in Mobile Cloud Computing

    Poonam*, Suman Sangwan

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1783-1799, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031729 - 22 September 2022

Abstract This paper presents a novel fuzzy firefly-based intelligent algorithm for load balancing in mobile cloud computing while reducing makespan. The proposed technique implicitly acts intelligently by using inherent traits of fuzzy and firefly. It automatically adjusts its behavior or converges depending on the information gathered during the search process and objective function. It works for 3-tier architecture, including cloudlet and public cloud. As cloudlets have limited resources, fuzzy logic is used for cloudlet selection using capacity and waiting time as input. Fuzzy provides human-like decisions without using any mathematical model. Firefly is a powerful meta-heuristic… More >

Detection Collision Flows in SDN Based 5G Using Machine Learning Algorithms

    Aqsa Aqdus1, Rashid Amin1,*, Sadia Ramzan1, Sultan S. Alshamrani2, Abdullah Alshehri3, El-Sayed M. El-kenawy4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1413-1435, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031719 - 22 September 2022

Abstract The rapid advancement of wireless communication is forming a hyper-connected 5G network in which billions of linked devices generate massive amounts of data. The traffic control and data forwarding functions are decoupled in software-defined networking (SDN) and allow the network to be programmable. Each switch in SDN keeps track of forwarding information in a flow table. The SDN switches must search the flow table for the flow rules that match the packets to handle the incoming packets. Due to the obvious vast quantity of data in data centres, the capacity of the flow table restricts… More >
