    Neenavath Veeraiah1,*, Youseef Alotaibi2, Saleh Alghamdi3, Satish Thatavarti4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 637-657, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.034224

Abstract Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is an infrastructure-less network that is comprised of a set of nodes that move randomly. In MANET, the overall performance is improved through multipath multicast routing to achieve the quality of service (quality of service). In this, different nodes are involved in the information data collection and transmission to the destination nodes in the network. The different nodes are combined and presented to achieve energy-efficient data transmission and classification of the nodes. The route identification and routing are established based on the data broadcast by the network nodes. In transmitting the data packet, evaluating the… More >

    D. Deepa, K. R. Jothi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 137-151, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032485

Abstract Every day, more and more data is being produced by the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. IoT data differ in amount, diversity, veracity, and velocity. Because of latency, various types of data handling in cloud computing are not suitable for many time-sensitive applications. When users move from one site to another, mobility also adds to the latency. By placing computing close to IoT devices with mobility support, fog computing addresses these problems. An efficient Load Balancing Algorithm (LBA) improves user experience and Quality of Service (QoS). Classification of Request (CoR) based Resource Adaptive LBA is suggested in this research. Abstract Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of a group of limited energy source sensors that are installed in a particular region to collect data from the environment. Designing the energy-efficient data collection methods in large-scale wireless sensor networks is considered to be a difficult area in the research. Sensor node clustering is a popular approach for WSN. Moreover, the sensor nodes are grouped to form clusters in a cluster-based WSN environment. The battery performance of the sensor nodes is likewise constrained. As a result, the energy efficiency of WSNs is critical. In specific, the energy usage is influenced by the loads… More >

Fuzzy Firefly Based Intelligent Algorithm for Load Balancing in Mobile Cloud Computing

    Poonam*, Suman Sangwan

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1783-1799, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031729

Abstract This paper presents a novel fuzzy firefly-based intelligent algorithm for load balancing in mobile cloud computing while reducing makespan. The proposed technique implicitly acts intelligently by using inherent traits of fuzzy and firefly. It automatically adjusts its behavior or converges depending on the information gathered during the search process and objective function. It works for 3-tier architecture, including cloudlet and public cloud. As cloudlets have limited resources, fuzzy logic is used for cloudlet selection using capacity and waiting time as input. Fuzzy provides human-like decisions without using any mathematical model. Firefly is a powerful meta-heuristic optimization technique to balance diversification… More >

Detection Collision Flows in SDN Based 5G Using Machine Learning Algorithms

    Aqsa Aqdus1, Rashid Amin1,*, Sadia Ramzan1, Sultan S. Alshamrani2, Abdullah Alshehri3, El-Sayed M. El-kenawy4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1413-1435, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031719

Abstract The rapid advancement of wireless communication is forming a hyper-connected 5G network in which billions of linked devices generate massive amounts of data. The traffic control and data forwarding functions are decoupled in software-defined networking (SDN) and allow the network to be programmable. Each switch in SDN keeps track of forwarding information in a flow table. The SDN switches must search the flow table for the flow rules that match the packets to handle the incoming packets. Due to the obvious vast quantity of data in data centres, the capacity of the flow table restricts the data plane’s forwarding capabilities.… More >

Energy Efficient Load Balancing and Routing Using Multi-Objective Based Algorithm in WSN

Hemant Kumar Vijayvergia1,*, Uma Shankar Modani2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.3, pp. 3227-3239, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031357

Abstract In wireless sensor network (WSN), the gateways which are placed far away from the base station (BS) forward the collected data to the BS through the gateways which are nearer to the BS. This leads to more energy consumption because the gateways nearer to the BS manages heavy traffic load. So, to overcome this issue, loads around the gateways are to be balanced by presenting energy efficient clustering approach. Besides, to enhance the lifetime of the network, optimal routing path is to be established between the source node and BS. For energy efficient load balancing and routing, multi objective based… More >

    BE-RPL: Balanced-load and Energy-efficient RPL

    S. Jagir Hussain*, M. Roopa

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.1, pp. 785-801, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.030393

Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) empowers imaginative applications and permits new services when mobile nodes are included. For IoT-enabled low-power and lossy networks (LLN), the Routing Protocol for Low-power and Lossy Networks (RPL) has become an established standard routing protocol. Mobility under standard RPL remains a difficult issue as it causes continuous path disturbance, energy loss, and increases the end-to-end delay in the network. In this unique circumstance, a Balanced-load and Energy-efficient RPL (BE-RPL) is proposed. It is a routing technique that is both energy-efficient and mobility-aware. It responds quicker to link breakage through received signal strength-based mobility monitoring and selecting… More >
