    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.1, pp. 515-532, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.044504 - 30 January 2024

Abstract This work carried out a measurement study of the Ethereum Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network to gain a better understanding of the underlying nodes. Ethereum was applied because it pioneered distributed applications, smart contracts, and Web3. Moreover, its application layer language “Solidity” is widely used in smart contracts across different public and private blockchains. To this end, we wrote a new Ethereum client based on Geth to collect Ethereum node information. Moreover, various web scrapers have been written to collect nodes’ historical data from the Internet Archive and the Wayback Machine project. The collected data has been… More >

    Wei Wang1, Yang Yu1, Simin Luo2,*, Wenlin Liu2, Wei Tang1, Yuanbo Ye1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.2, pp. 315-337, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.042082 - 25 January 2024

Abstract As an effective approach to achieve the “dual-carbon” goal, the grid-connected capacity of renewable energy increases constantly. Photovoltaics are the most widely used renewable energy sources and have been applied on various occasions. However, the inherent randomness, intermittency, and weak support of grid-connected equipment not only cause changes in the original flow characteristics of the grid but also result in complex fault characteristics. Traditional overcurrent and differential protection methods cannot respond accurately due to the effects of unknown renewable energy sources. Therefore, a longitudinal protection method based on virtual measurement of current restraint is proposed More >

Software Coupling and Cohesion Model for Measuring the Quality of Software Components

    Zakarya Abdullah Alzamil*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 3139-3161, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042711 - 26 December 2023

Abstract Measuring software quality requires software engineers to understand the system’s quality attributes and their measurements. The quality attribute is a qualitative property; however, the quantitative feature is needed for software measurement, which is not considered during the development of most software systems. Many research studies have investigated different approaches for measuring software quality, but with no practical approaches to quantify and measure quality attributes. This paper proposes a software quality measurement model, based on a software interconnection model, to measure the quality of software components and the overall quality of the software system. Unlike most… More >

Fluid-Structure Interaction in Arterial Network and Implications for Blood Pressure Measurement– A Numerical Study

    Peishuo Wu1, Chi Zhu1,2,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.25, No.1, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09869

Abstract Central blood pressure, i.e., the blood pressure near the heart, is an important physiological indicator of the cardiovascular function of a patient. However, direct measurement of this quantity is rarely carried out due to the invasive nature of the procedure. Instead, blood pressure at the arm (brachial artery) measured through an inflatable cuff is commonly used to represent or estimate the central blood pressure. On the other hand, the aortic pressure propagates downstream in the form of pulse waves, which have to pass through a complex and compliant vascular network to reach the brachial artery.… More >

    Zhaoting Liu1, Jianbo Wu1,*, Sha He2, Xin Rao3, Shiqiang Wang2, Shen Wang1, Wei Wei4

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.17, No.4, pp. 299-314, 2023, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2023.022554 - 02 August 2023

Abstract It is known that eddy current effect has a great influence on magnetic flux leakage testing (MFL). Usually, contact-type encoder wheels are used to measure MFL testing speed to evaluate the effect and further compensate testing signals. This speed measurement method is complicated, and inevitable abrasion and occasional slippage will reduce the measurement accuracy. In order to solve this problem, based on eddy current effect due to the relative movement, a speed measurement method is proposed, which is contactless and simple. In the high-speed MFL testing, eddy current induced in the specimen will cause an More > Graphic Abstract
