Joint Spectrum Partition and Performance Analysis of Full-Duplex D2D Communications in Multi-Tier Wireless Networks

    Yueping Wang1,*, Xuan Zhang2, Yixuan Zhang3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.61, No.1, pp. 171-184, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.06204

Abstract Full-duplex (FD) has been recognized as a promising technology for future 5G networks to improve the spectrum efficiency. However, the biggest practical impediments of realizing full-duplex communications are the presence of self-interference, especially in complex cellular networks. With the current development of self-interference cancellation techniques, full-duplex has been considered to be more suitable for device-to-device (D2D) and small cell communications which have small transmission range and low transmit power. In this paper, we consider the full-duplex D2D communications in multi-tier wireless networks and present an analytical model which jointly considers mode selection, resource allocation, and More >

Julius Beneoluchi Odilia, Mohd Nizam Mohmad Kahara, A. Noraziaha,b, M. Zarinac, Riaz Ul Haqa

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.4, pp. 759-769, 2018, DOI:10.1080/10798587.2017.1334370

Abstract This paper carries out a performance analysis of major Nature-inspired Algorithms in solving the benchmark symmetric and asymmetric Traveling Salesman’s Problems (TSP). Knowledge of the workings of the TSP is very useful in strategic management as it provides useful guidance to planners. After critical assessments of the performances of eleven algorithms consisting of two heuristics (Randomized Insertion Algorithm and the Honey Bee Mating Optimization for the Travelling Salesman’s Problem), two trajectory algorithms (Simulated Annealing and Evolutionary Simulated Annealing) and seven population-based optimization algorithms (Genetic Algorithm, Artificial Bee Colony, African Buffalo Optimization, Bat Algorithm, Particle Swarm… More >

Comparison and Performance Analysis of Multiple CPU/GPU Computing Systems – Resin Infusion Flow Modeling Application

    R.H. Haney1, R.V. Mohan2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.95, No.5, pp. 431-452, 2013, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2013.095.431

Abstract The use of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) as co-processors for single CPU/GPU computing systems has become pronounced in high performance computing research, however the solution of truly large scale computationally intensive problems require the utilization of multiple computing nodes. Multiple CPU/GPU computing systems bring new complexities to the observed performance of computationally intensive applications, the more salient of which is the cost of local CPU-GPU host and intra-nodal communication. This paper compares and analyzes the performance of a computationally intensive application represented by resin infusion flow during liquid composite molding process for the manufacture of… More >

Electromagnetic Performance Analysis of Novel Multi-band Metamaterial FSS for Millimeter Wave Radome Applications

    Shiv Narayan1, Shamala Joshi B1, Raveendranath U. Nair1, R M Jha1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 1-16, 2012, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2012.031.001

Abstract The electromagnetic design and performance analysis of dual/ multi-band metamaterial frequency selective surface (FSS) structures have been carried out for radome applications in microwave and millimeter wave frequency regimes. The proposed metamaterial FSS structure, consisting of cascaded MNG (mu-nega -tive) and DPS (double positive) layers, exhibits dual-band transmission responses at V-band and W-band. Excellent transmission efficiency (more than 95%) has been obtained over the frequency range 45.8-53.1 GHz at first resonance, and from 93.0-97.1 GHz at second resonance. The incorporation of additional DPS layer to the proposed metamaterial-FSS structure facilitates multiband bandpass characteristics at 30 More >
