    Dah-Jing Jwo*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.2, pp. 2105-2126, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.014241

Abstract In this paper, the Global Positioning System (GPS) interferometer provides the preliminarily computed quaternions, which are then employed as the measurement of the extended Kalman filter (EKF) for the attitude determination system. The estimated quaternion elements from the EKF output with noticeably improved precision can be converted to the Euler angles for navigation applications. The aim of the study is twofold. Firstly, the GPS-based computed quaternion vector is utilized to avoid the singularity problem. Secondly, the quaternion estimator based on the EKF is adopted to improve the estimation accuracy. Determination of the unknown baseline vector between the antennas sits at… More >

    Jianzhong Qi1, 2, *, Qingping Song3, Jim Feng4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.3, pp. 2385-2396, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011651

Abstract The area navigation system, discussed in this paper, is composed of ground responders and a navigation terminal and can position a high-velocity aircraft and measure its velocity. This navigation system is silent at ordinary times. It sends out a request signal when positioning is required for an aircraft, and then the ground responders send a signal for resolving the aircraft. Combining the direct sequence spread spectrum and frequency hopping, the concealed communication mode is used in the whole communication process, with short communication pulses as much as possible, so the system has strong concealment and anti-interference characteristics. As the transmission… More >

    Huaixi Xing1, Yu Zhao1, Yuhui Zhang1, You Chen1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.3, pp. 2295-2308, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011858

Abstract Aiming at the yaw problem caused by inertial navigation system errors accumulation during the navigation of an intelligent aircraft, a three-dimensional trajectory planning method based on the particle swarm optimization-A star (PSO-A*) algorithm is designed. Firstly, an environment model for aircraft error correction is established, and the trajectory is discretized to calculate the positioning error. Next, the positioning error is corrected at many preset trajectory points. The shortest trajectory and the fewest correction times are regarded as optimization goals to improve the heuristic function of A star (A*) algorithm. Finally, the index weights are continuously optimized by the particle swarm… More >

Complementary Kalman Filter as a Baseline Vector Estimator for GPS-Based Attitude Determination

    Dah-Jing Jwo1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.2, pp. 993-1014, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011592

Abstract The Global Positioning System (GPS) offers the interferometer for attitude determination by processing the carrier phase observables. By using carrier phase observables, the relative positioning is obtained in centimeter level. GPS interferometry has been firstly used in precise static relative positioning, and thereafter in kinematic positioning. The carrier phase differential GPS based on interferometer principles can solve for the antenna baseline vector, defined as the vector between the antenna designated master and one of the slave antennas, connected to a rigid body. Determining the unknown baseline vectors between the antennas sits at the heart of GPS-based attitude determination. The conventional… More >

Active Control of a Piezoelectric Actuated Four-Bar Mechanism Deployed in Robotics Applications

    Qais A. Khasawneh1,3, Mohammad Abdel Kareem Jaradat1,2, Mohammad Al-Shabi4, Hala Khalaf1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 443-457, 2018, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000008

Abstract This work presents a new micro-positioning system that is implemented in an inchworm robot to move into desired locations. The system consists of four-bar mechanism; one link is fixed, and each one of the remaining links carries a piezoelectric actuator (PZT). PZTs are specifically chosen since they provide fast response and small displacements; up to ±30 µm for ±100 Volts. The system’s mathematical model is derived and is numerically simulated by MATLAB. Three fuzzy PI controllers, which are tuned automatically by genetic algorithm, are designed to control the system. Results indicate an error of less than 1% although disturbances present. More >

Modeling Analysis for Positioning Error of Mobile Lidar Based on MultiBody System Kinematics

    Cang Peng1, Yu Zhenglin2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 827-835, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000086

Abstract The assembly error of the supporting component in Mobile Lidar has an inevitable influence on the positioning accuracy and the system error. In this paper, we applied the multi-body system kinematics principle and the homogeneous coordinate transformation to infer the final pointing error formula which influences the three-axis error model of the Mobile Lidar. The influence of each error item on the positioning accuracy (pointing accuracy) of radar system is analyzed by computer simulation, and the motion law between each axis of radar supporting component is discussed, which has laid the base for researching the positioning accuracy of Mobile Lidar. Lei Sun1, Ling Tan1,*, Wenjie Ma1, Jingming Xia2

    Journal on Internet of Things, Vol.2, No.1, pp. 23-35, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jiot.2020.09075

Abstract In recent years, WiFi indoor positioning technology has become a hot research topic at home and abroad. However, at present, indoor positioning technology still has many problems in terms of practicability and stability, which seriously affects the accuracy of indoor positioning and increases the complexity of the calculation process. Aiming at the instability of RSS and the more complicated data processing, this paper proposes a low-frequency filtering method based on fast data convergence. Low-frequency filtering uses MATLAB for data fitting to filter out low-frequency data; data convergence combines the mean and multi-data parallel analysis process to achieve a good balance… More >

    Lin Zhao1, Xiaobo Chen1, 2, *, Jianhua Cheng1, Lianhua Yu3, Chengcai Lv4, Jiuru Wang5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.2, pp. 1005-1023, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010290

Abstract This paper addresses the problem of assessing and optimizing the acoustic positioning system for underwater target localization with range measurement. We present a new three-dimensional assessment model to evaluate the optimal geometric beacon formation whether meets user requirements. For mathematical tractability, it is assumed that the measurements of the range between the target and beacons are corrupted with white Gaussian noise with variance, which is distance-dependent. Then, the relationship between DOP parameters and positioning accuracy can be derived by adopting dilution of precision (DOP) parameters in the assessment model. In addition, the optimal geometric beacon formation yielding the best performance… More >
