    THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF BINARY MIXTURES OF GASES

    Abstract A model for the coefficient of thermal conductivity of binary mixtures of gases has been derived. The theory presented is based on the assumption of random fluctuations between two possible extreme arrangements of a binary gas mixture. The results obtained from the new model compared favorably with published experimental results. The proposed new model provides a simple approach without sacrificing much accuracy compared to previous models. It is applicable to any binary mixture of gases which includes monoatomic gas mixture, polyatomic gas mixtures and mixtures involving rare gases. The new model can be very useful More >

    Abstract Southeastern potato growing regions from Coahuila and Nuevo León contribute with 15% to domestic production. Such production has been impacted by several factors, in particular Bactericera (=Paratrioza) cockerelli Sulc potato psyllid, one of the most important pests affecting this crop. Its control is based on Insecticide applications, leading to unsatisfactory results and high selection pressure.     Abstract Cell lines with high passage numbers exhibit alterations in cell morphology and functions. In the present work, C2C12 skeletal muscle cells with either low (<20) or high (>60) passage numbers (identified as lC2C12 or h-C2C12, respectively) were used to investigate the apoptotic response to H2 O2 as a function of culture age h-C2C12. Each patient should be carefully assessed to ensure that a correct diagnosis is made and that antimicrobial therapy is appropriately prescribed—defined as using a clinically indicated agent in the correct dose and route of administration, for the correct duration—for symptomatic patients, and avoided for most asymptomatic patients.     Biomass production and grain yield of three sorghum lines differing in drought resistance

    Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the efficiency of drought classification criteria that we previously reported for our grain sorghum genotypes. Two tolerant genotypes of grain sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] (UAT-124 and UAT-152) and one susceptible (UAT-30) were subjected to drought under greenhouse conditions at either panicle initiation, flag leaf, or flowering.
