    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 903-919, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016114 - 22 March 2021

Abstract Malaria is a severe epidemic disease caused by Plasmodium falciparum. The parasite causes critical illness if persisted for longer durations and delay in precise treatment can lead to further complications. The automatic diagnostic model provides aid for medical practitioners to avail a fast and efficient diagnosis. Most of the existing work either utilizes a fully connected convolution neural network with successive pooling layers which causes loss of information in pixels. Further, convolutions can capture spatial invariances but, cannot capture rotational invariances. Hence to overcome these limitations, this research, develops an Imperative Dynamic routing mechanism with fully… More >

    Raed Alsaqour1, Saif Kamal2, Maha Abdelhaq3,*, Yazan Al Jeroudi4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 941-960, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015921 - 22 March 2021

Abstract Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a dynamically reconfigurable wireless network with time-variable infrastructure. Given that nodes are highly mobile, MANET’s topology often changes. These changes increase the difficulty in finding the routes that the packets use when they are routed. This study proposes an algorithm called genetic algorithm-based location-aided routing (GALAR) to enhance the MANET routing protocol efficiency. The GALAR algorithm maintains an adaptive update of the node location information by adding the transmitting node location information to the routing packet and selecting the transmitting node to carry the packets to their destination. Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) network used for industrial management is vulnerable to different security threats due to its unstructured deployment, and dynamic communication behavior. In literature various mechanisms addressed the security issue of Industrial IoT networks, but proper maintenance of the performance reliability is among the common challenges. In this paper, we proposed an intelligent mutual authentication scheme leveraging authentication aware node (AAN) and base station (BS) to identify routing attacks in Industrial IoT networks. The AAN and BS uses the communication parameter such as a route request (RREQ), node-ID, received signal strength (RSS), and More >

    Thamer Alhussain1, Ahmad Ali AlZubi2,*, Abdulaziz Alarifi2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.3, pp. 3749-3763, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015858 - 01 March 2021

Abstract The vehicle ad hoc network that has emerged in recent years was originally a branch of the mobile ad hoc network. With the drafting and gradual establishment of standards such as IEEE802.11p and IEEE1609, the vehicle ad hoc network has gradually become independent of the mobile ad hoc network. The Internet of Vehicles (Vehicular Ad Hoc Network, VANET) is a vehicle-mounted network that comprises vehicles and roadside basic units. This multi-hop hybrid wireless network is based on a vehicle-mounted self-organizing network. As compared to other wireless networks, such as mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor… More >

Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) is gaining attention because of its broad applicability, especially by integrating smart devices for massive communication during sensing tasks. IoT-assisted Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are suitable for various applications like industrial monitoring, agriculture, and transportation. In this regard, routing is challenging to find an efficient path using smart devices for transmitting the packets towards big data repositories while ensuring efficient energy utilization. This paper presents the Robust Cluster Based Routing Protocol (RCBRP) to identify the routing paths where less energy is consumed to enhances the network lifespan. The scheme is… More >

Secure Localization Based Authentication (SLA) Strategy for Data Integrity in WNS

    V. Manikandan1,*, M. Sivaram1, Amin Salih Mohammed2, V. Porkodi3, K. Shankar4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.3, pp. 4005-4018, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014643 - 01 March 2021

Abstract Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has been extensively utilized as a communication model in Internet of Things (IoT). As well, to offer service, numerous IoT based applications need effective transmission over unstable locations. To ensure reliability, prevailing investigations exploit multiple candidate forwarders over geographic opportunistic routing in WSNs. Moreover, these models are affected by crucial denial of service (DoS) attacks, where huge amount of invalid data are delivered intentionally to the receivers to disturb the functionality of WSNs. Here, secure localization based authentication (SLA) is presented to fight against DoS attack, and to fulfil the need… More >

Enhanced KOCED Routing Protocol with K-means Algorithm

    SeaYoung Park1, Jong-Yong Lee2, Daesung Lee3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.3, pp. 4019-4037, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014353 - 01 March 2021

Abstract Replacing or recharging batteries in the sensor nodes of a wireless sensor network (WSN) is a significant challenge. Therefore, efficient power utilization by sensors is a critical requirement, and it is closely related to the life span of the network. Once a sensor node consumes all its energy, it will no longer function properly. Therefore, various protocols have been proposed to minimize the energy consumption of sensors and thus prolong the network operation. Recently, clustering algorithms combined with artificial intelligence have been proposed for this purpose. In particular, various protocols employ the K-means clustering algorithm,… More >

Abstract In vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), the topology information (TI) is updated frequently due to vehicle mobility. These frequent changes in topology increase the topology maintenance overhead. To reduce the control message overhead, cluster-based routing schemes are proposed. In cluster-based routing schemes, the nodes are divided into different virtual groups, and each group (logical node) is considered a cluster. The topology changes are accommodated within each cluster, and broadcasting TI to the whole VANET is not required. The cluster head (CH) is responsible for managing the communication of a node with other nodes outside the… More >

Abstract A major problem in networking has always been energy consumption. Battery life is one parameter which could help improve Energy Efficiency. Existing research on wireless networking stresses on reducing signaling messages or time required for data transfer for addressing energy consumption issues. Routing or Forwarding packets in a network between the network elements like routers, switches, wireless access points, etc., is complex in conventional networks. With the advent of Software Defined Networking (SDN) for 5G network architectures, the distributed networking has embarked onto centralized networking, wherein the SDN Controller is responsible for decision making. The… More >
