Summary

Photovoltaic (PV) systems operate in highly dynamic and unpredictable environments, facing challenges such as partial shading, temperature fluctuations, dust accumulation, and rapid irradiance changes. These factors significantly influence power extraction efficiency, system stability, and overall performance. Conventional control and optimization methods often fall short in maintaining optimal energy conversion under such conditions, highlighting the need for more intelligent and robust solutions. This special issue seeks to compile cutting-edge research on global optimization algorithms, intelligent control strategies, and innovative power management techniques designed for PV systems operating under complex and uncertain conditions. The focus will be on enhancing power extraction efficiency, improving system stability, and strengthening resilience.

We invite high-quality research contributions covering, but not limited to, the following topics:
· MPPT Optimization under complex operating conditions
· Advanced power electronics and control strategies
· Modeling and simulation of PV systems under uncertain conditions
· Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), processor-in-the-loop(PIL) and FPGA-based implementation of photovoltaic systems
· Energy management and system integration
· New nonlinear and robust control methodologies for PV systems
· Solar irradiance estimation methodologies for optimal PV systems
· Metaheuristics-based global maximum power point tracking
· Solar photovoltaic emulation

This special issue welcomes original research articles, review papers, and experimental studies that tackle key challenges in optimizing and controlling PV systems under complex and uncertain conditions. Contributions that integrate theoretical advancements, simulation-based analysis, and real-world experimental validation will be prioritized.
