Summary
Following the highly successful the 5th Asian Association for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (AAPCHS) Annual Conference, CHD Journal is proud to launch a Special Issue dedicated to this premier event. This issue aims to compile a curated collection of the most significant and innovative research presented, focusing on the latest advancements and surgical techniques in pediatric and congenital heart disease. By providing a permanent, peer-reviewed record of these developments, we hope to foster further discussion and progress within this specialized surgical community.
Aims and Scope:
This Special Issue will highlight cutting-edge work that aligns with the scope of CHD Journal and the mission of the AAPCHS. We invite authors who presented their work (oral presentations or posters) at the 5th AAPCHS Conference to submit a full manuscript for consideration.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Innovative Surgical Techniques and Outcomes: New procedures, hybrid approaches, and minimally invasive surgery for congenital heart defects.
· Perioperative Management: Advances in anesthesia, cardiopulmonary bypass, post-operative intensive care, and early rehabilitation.
· Surgical Outcomes Research: Long-term follow-up studies, quality of life, and risk stratification models.
· Management of Complex Congenital Anomalies: Single-ventricle physiology, transposition of the great arteries, and other complex defects.
· Fetal Cardiac Intervention and Neonatal Surgery.
· Team-Based Care: Collaboration between surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, and perfusionists.
· Global Health in Congenital Heart Surgery: Addressing disparities in care and building sustainable programs across Asia.
