CJU Editor-in-Chief Receives 2026 AUA Lifetime Achievement Award

The Canadian Journal of Urology proudly congratulates its Editor-in-Chief, Leonard G. Gomella, MD, on receiving the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Urological Association (AUA). The award recognizes Dr. Gomella “for numerous outstanding contributions to urologic education and scientific advancements, particularly within urologic oncology.”

Prof. Gomella has long been engaged in both basic and clinical research focused on the development of novel diagnostic approaches and treatment strategies for prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers through Jefferson’s Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Receiving the 2026 AUA Lifetime Achievement Award represents not only a prestigious recognition of Prof. Gomella’s decades of outstanding contributions to urologic oncology, medical education, clinical research, and academic leadership, but also a significant milestone in his distinguished career.
