    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 6411-6427, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.027124

Abstract As an important part of phased array system, the research on phased array antenna is very necessary. The phased array antenna achieves the scanning beam adaptively by regulating the phase difference between each array element. In this paper, a dual K-band circularly polarized antenna with high broadband, broadband beam, wide axial ratio bandwidth and high radiation efficiency is designed. We combine with the advantages of slot antenna and aperture antenna, use multimode waveguide cavity structure to design an aperture antenna, which is fed to waveguide circular polarizer by slot coupling in order to realize circular polarization radiation. Meanwhile, it has… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 313-325, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031706

Abstract This paper proposes a new dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) design that can generate circularly polarized (CP) triple-band signals. A triple-band CP DRA antenna fed by a probe feed system is achieved with metal strips structure on side of DRA structure. The design start with conventional rectangular DRA with F shaped metal strips on DRA structure alongside the feed. Then, the F metal strip is enhanced by extending the length of the metal strip to obtain wider impedance bandwidth. Further improvement on the antenna performance is observed by improvised the conventional DRA structure. The method of removing part of DRA bottom… More >

A Compact Flexible Circularly Polarized Implantable Antenna for Biotelemetry Applications

    Sarosh Ahmad1,*, Shakir Ullah2, Adnan Ghaffar3, Daniel Segovia Vargas1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2457-2472, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.025527

Abstract With the help of in-body antennas, the wireless communication among the implantable medical devices (IMDs) and exterior monitoring equipment, the telemetry system has brought us many benefits. Thus, a very thin-profile circularly polarized (CP) in-body antenna, functioning in ISM band at 2.45 GHz, is proposed. A tapered coplanar waveguide (CPW) method is used to excite the antenna. The radiator contains a pentagonal shape with five horizontal slits inside to obtain a circular polarization behavior. A bendable Roger Duroid RT5880 material (εr = 2.2, tanδ = 0.0009) with a typical 0.25 mm-thickness is used as a substrate. The proposed antenna has… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.3, pp. 4631-4643, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026111

Abstract In this study, a compact 2 × 2 interlaced sequentially rotated dual-polarized dielectric-resonator antenna array is proposed for 5.8 GHz applications. The array is composed of a novel unit elements that are made of rectangular dielectric resonator (RDR) coupled to an eye slot for generating the orthogonal modes, and to acquire circular polarization (CP) radiation. For the purpose of miniaturization and achieving dual polarized resonance, the array is fed by two interlaced ports and each port excites two radiating elements. The first port feeds horizontal elements to obtain left hand circular polarization (LHCP). The second port feeds vertical elements to obtain right hand… More >

Hussain Askari, Niamat Hussain, Domin Choi, Md. Abu Sufian, Anees Abbas, Nam Kim*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.3, pp. 2997-3013, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.018855

Abstract This paper presents an AMC (artificial magnetic conductor)-based wideband circularly polarized printed monopole antenna for unidirectional radiation. The antenna includes an AMC reflector, a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed structure to excite the antenna, a ground plane with a rectangular slot on the left side of feedline, and an asymmetrical ground plane on its right side. The induced surface currents on CWP feedline, rectangularly slotted, and asymmetrical ground planes cause circularly polarized radiations. The AMC reflector consisting periodic metallic square patches is used instead of the conventional PEC (perfect electric conductor) reflector, the distance between the antenna and reflector is reduced… More >

Shahid Khan1,*, Xin Cheng Ren2, Haider Ali3, Camel Tanougast1, Abdul Rauf4, Safdar Nawaz Khan Marwat5, Muhammad Rizwan Anjum6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 2095-2109, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016811

Abstract In this work, a novel compact wideband reconfigurable circularly polarised (CP) dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. The L-shaped Dielectric resonator antenna is excited by an inverted question mark shaped feed. This arrangement of feed-line helps to generate two orthogonal modes inside the DR, which makes the design circularly polarised. A thin micro-strip line placed on the defected ground plane not only helps to generate a wideband response but also assist in the positioning of the two diode switches. These switches located at the left and right of the micro-strip line helps in performing two switching operations. The novel compact… More >

Single-Layer Wideband Circularly Polarized Antenna Using Non-Uniform Metasurface for C-band Applications

    Huy Hung Tran1,2, Khoa Nguyen-Dang1,2,*, Niamat Hussain3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 2487-2498, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016027

Abstract A single-layer design of non-uniform metasurface (MS) based circularly polarized (CP) antenna with wideband operation characteristic is proposed and investigated in this paper. The antenna is excited by a truncated corner squared patch as a primary radiating CP source. Then, a non-uniform MS is placed in the same layer with the driven patch. Besides increasing the impedance bandwidth, the non-uniform MS also generates two additional CP bands in the high frequency band, leading to significantly increase the antenna’s overall performances. The use of non-uniform MS distinguishes our design from the other CP MS based antennas in literature, in which the… More >

A Consistent Computation of Magnetization Reversal under a Circularly Polarized Field and an Anisotropy Field

    Chein-Shan Liu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.6, No.2, pp. 117-128, 2007, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2007.006.117

Abstract In this paper the Landau-Lifshitz equation is subjected to a circularly polarized field in the plane, as well as both a dc field and an anisotropy field along the vertical easy axis perpendicular to the plane. The representation of Landau-Lifshitz equation in the Minkowski space is a Lie-type system. By performing a computation through the Lie-group solvers we can develop a consistent numerical method, which satisfies the consistency condition exactly, and thus can retain the invariant behavior. Then, we use the consistent numerical method to investigate the magnetization reversal, whose switching criterion is displayed through the minimum curve of the… More >
