    The LncRNA FEZF1-AS1 promotes tumor proliferation in colon cancer by regulating the mitochondrial protein PCK2

    Abstract LncRNAs and metabolism represents two factors involved in cancer initiation and progression. However, the interaction between lncRNAs and metabolism remains to be fully explored. In this study, lncRNA FEZF1-AS1 (FEZF1- AS1) was found upregulated in colon cancer after screening all the lncRNAs of colon cancer tissues deposited in TCGA, the result of which was further confirmed by RNAscope staining on a colon tissue chip.     Abstract Glioma is a general malignant tumor with a dismal prognosis. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in the initiation and processes of tumors. An investigation of the GEPIA database revealed that long noncoding RNA WEE2 antisense RNA 1 (WEE2-AS1) is upregulated in glioma tissues compared to normal brain tissues, and validation with quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT–PCR) revealed that WEE2-AS1 expression was consistent with the database prediction.     Abstract Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been reported to play important roles in tumorigenesis. In the present study, we demonstrated that lncRNA forebrain embryonic zinc finger protein 1 (FEZF1) antisense RNA1 (FEZF1-AS1) is markedly upregulated in human lung adenocarcinoma (LAD) tissues and cell lines and is associated with poor prognosis. Loss of function revealed that deletion of FEZF1-AS1 expression significantly inhibited the LAD cell proliferation, invasion, and migration.     Abstract This study aimed to investigate the effect and underlying mechanism of lncRNA CASC2 in malignant melanoma (MM). Expression of CASC2 in MM tissues and cells was detected. However, the function of MNX1-AS1 in glioblastoma (GBM) remains largely unknown. Here we found that the expression of MNX1-AS1 was significantly upregulated in GBM tissues and cell lines.
