Preserving Data Secrecy and Integrity for Cloud Storage Using Smart Contracts and Cryptographic Primitives

    Maher Alharby*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.79, No.2, pp. 2449-2463, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.050425

Abstract Cloud computing has emerged as a viable alternative to traditional computing infrastructures, offering various benefits. However, the adoption of cloud storage poses significant risks to data secrecy and integrity. This article presents an effective mechanism to preserve the secrecy and integrity of data stored on the public cloud by leveraging blockchain technology, smart contracts, and cryptographic primitives. The proposed approach utilizes a Solidity-based smart contract as an auditor for maintaining and verifying the integrity of outsourced data. To preserve data secrecy, symmetric encryption systems are employed to encrypt user data before outsourcing it. An extensive performance analysis is conducted to… More >

    Mohammad Mehdi Sharifi Nevisi1, Elnaz Bashir2, Diego Martín3,*, Seyedkian Rezvanjou4, Farzaneh Shoushtari5, Ehsan Ghafourian2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.3, pp. 3971-3991, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.047875

Abstract This paper focuses on wireless-powered communication systems, which are increasingly relevant in the Internet of Things (IoT) due to their ability to extend the operational lifetime of devices with limited energy. The main contribution of the paper is a novel approach to minimize the secrecy outage probability (SOP) in these systems. Minimizing SOP is crucial for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of data, especially in situations where the transmission of sensitive data is critical. Our proposed method harnesses the power of an improved biogeography-based optimization (IBBO) to effectively train a recurrent neural network (RNN). The proposed IBBO introduces an innovative… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1849-1864, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029801

Abstract Integrated satellite unmanned aerial vehicle relay networks (ISUAVRNs) have become a prominent topic in recent years. This paper investigates the average secrecy capacity (ASC) for reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-enabled ISUAVRNs. Especially, an eve is considered to intercept the legitimate information from the considered secrecy system. Besides, we get detailed expressions for the ASC of the regarded secrecy system with the aid of the reconfigurable intelligent. Furthermore, to gain insightful results of the major parameters on the ASC in high signal-to-noise ratio regime, the approximate investigations are further gotten, which give an efficient method to value the secrecy analysis. At last,… More >

Secrecy Efficiency Maximization in Intelligent Reflective Surfaces Assisted UAV Communications

    Hui Wei, Leibing Yan*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1805-1824, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028072

Abstract This paper focuses on the secrecy efficiency maximization in intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) assisted unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication. With the popularization of UAV technology, more and more communication scenarios need UAV support. We consider using IRS to improve the secrecy efficiency. Specifically, IRS and UAV trajectories work together to counter potential eavesdroppers, while balancing the secrecy rate and energy consumption. The original problem is difficult to solve due to the coupling of optimization variables. We first introduce secrecy efficiency as an auxiliary variable and propose relaxation optimization problem, and then prove the equivalence between relaxation problem and the original… More >

Video Transmission Secrecy Improvement Based on Fractional Order Hyper Chaotic System

    S. Kayalvizhi*, S. Malarvizhi

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 1201-1214, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032381

Abstract In the Digital World scenario, the confidentiality of information in video transmission plays an important role. Chaotic systems have been shown to be effective for video signal encryption. To improve video transmission secrecy, compressive encryption method is proposed to accomplish compression and encryption based on fractional order hyper chaotic system that incorporates Compressive Sensing (CS), pixel level, bit level scrambling and nucleotide Sequences operations. The measurement matrix generates by the fractional order hyper chaotic system strengthens the efficiency of the encryption process. To avoid plain text attack, the CS measurement is scrambled to its pixel level, bit level scrambling decreases… More >

Secrecy Outage Probability for Two-Way Integrated Satellite Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Relay Networks with Hardware Impairments

    Xiaoting Ren1, Kefeng Guo2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.3, pp. 2515-2530, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.024857

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the secrecy outage performance for the two-way integrated satellite unmanned aerial vehicle relay networks with hardware impairments. Particularly, the closed-form expression for the secrecy outage probability is obtained. Moreover, to get more information on the secrecy outage probability in a high signal-to-noise regime, the asymptotic analysis along with the secrecy diversity order and secrecy coding gain for the secrecy outage probability are also further obtained, which presents a fast method to evaluate the impact of system parameters and hardware impairments on the considered network. Finally, Monte Carlo simulation results are provided to show the efficiency… More >

Secure and Anonymous Three-Factor Authentication Scheme for Remote Healthcare Systems

    Munayfah Alanazi*, Shadi Nashwan

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.42, No.2, pp. 703-725, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.022962

Abstract Wireless medical sensor networks (WMSNs) play a significant role in increasing the availability of remote healthcare systems. The vital and physiological data of the patient can be collected using the WMSN via sensor nodes that are placed on his/her body and then transmitted remotely to a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis. The protection of the patient’s privacy and their data from unauthorized access is a major concern in such systems. Therefore, an authentication scheme with a high level of security is one of the most effective mechanisms by which to address these security concerns. Many authentication schemes for remote patient… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.2, pp. 625-644, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020799

Abstract The healthcare IoT system is considered to be a significant and modern medical system. There is broad consensus that these systems will play a vital role in the achievement of economic growth in numerous growth countries. Among the major challenges preventing the fast and widespread adoption of such systems is the failure to maintain the data privacy of patients and the integrity of remote clinical diagnostics. Recently, the author proposed an end-to-end authentication scheme for healthcare IoT systems (E2EA), to provide a mutual authentication with a high data rate between the communication nodes of the healthcare IoT systems. Although the… More >
