Nanjing, China, 17 April 2026 — Structural & Congenital Heart Disease (SCHD) successfully held its first China Editorial Board Meeting in Nanjing, bringing together the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Editorial Board Members, and Young Editorial Board representatives from across the country to discuss the journal’s future development following its recent renaming.
The meeting was chaired by Editor-in-Chief Prof. Xuming Mo. Associate Editors Prof. Aihua Zhang and Prof. Hao Zhang delivered opening remarks, noting that the transition from Congenital Heart Disease to Structural & Congenital Heart Disease reflects the continued evolution of the field and represents an important step toward greater internationalization and academic impact.
During the meeting, Editorial Board Members and Young Editorial Board representatives shared insights on journal positioning, academic communication, international collaboration, and strategies for attracting high-quality submissions. Associate Editor Prof. Nianguo Dong also participated online and shared suggestions for promoting SCHD through international academic exchanges and global collaboration.
Editor-in-Chief Prof. Mo reviewed the journal’s recent progress and outlined future plans to strengthen academic quality, expand global engagement, and enhance the journal’s international visibility.
Dr. Yi Yang from Tech Science Press introduced the publisher’s ongoing support for SCHD, including fast-track editorial services, academic integrity screening, and international promotion initiatives aimed at supporting the journal’s long-term development.
The meeting marked a new milestone for SCHD following its renaming and reinforced the editorial board’s shared commitment to building a globally influential journal in the field of structural and congenital heart disease.
