AIBR Open Access

AIBR – Revista de Antropología Iberoamericana (Ibero-American Journal of Anthropology) (ISSN: 1695-9752, EISSN: 1578-9705), is an independent publication founded in 2002 by an international team of academics, researchers, and professionals. Our mission is to provide open access to leading research in the field of Anthropology, the discipline that studies humankind in all its aspects.
Since its foundation, AIBR has published both theoretical and methodological contributions as well as ethnographically grounded empirical studies of human diversity, particularly focusing on the Iberian Peninsula and the Latin American continent. We are currently broadening this geographical emphasis to include empirically grounded papers also from other regions of the world.
We are independent of any political, ideological, or economic affiliation, thus guaranteeing intellectual freedom and a commitment to high-quality research. We consider the arts and sciences to be a common good and advocate open access to knowledge, ensuring our content is accessible to researchers, students, and the general public without restrictions.
Our goal is to contribute to the advancement of anthropological thought and to the understanding of human diversity as a trait that makes our species unique, fostering academic collaboration and the exchange of ideas with knowledge communities around the world.

Effective from Issue 1 in 2027, AIBR – Revista de Antropología Iberoamericana (Ibero-American Journal of Anthropology) will be published by Tech Science Press (TSP). This collaboration is designed to enhance the journal's academic impact and global visibility while ensuring an improved publishing experience for researchers. The journal's aims, scope, and formatting guidelines will remain unchanged. The Editors-in-Chief, Prof. Eloy Gómez-Pellón and Prof. Gunther Dietz, together with the Editorial Board, will continue to lead the journal toward an even more successful future.
