    Seed germination with selenium (Se) is promising for producing Se-biofortified foods. Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) sprout is freshly eaten as a salad dressed with sauce, making it superior for Se biofortification. Since the Se safety range for the human body is extremely narrow, it is imperative to evaluate the genotypic responses of mungbean sprouts to Se.     Abstract A field experiment was conducted to determine the effects of two commercial strains composed of mulple arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) species on plant growth, antioxidant capacity, and medicine quality of Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis in three subtropical soils from Wanzhou, Anshun and Baoshan in fields. The results showed that AMF inoculation enhanced the fungal colonization rate and activities of both succinate dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphatase, thereby, enhancing the mycorrhizal viability of P. polyphylla var. yunnanensis.     Abstract In the present study, the antioxidant capacity of vitamin C was examined in the liver and the kidney tissues of mice with or without ciprofloxacin (CFX) treatment. The antioxidant capacity of the vitamin was evaluated in terms of lipid hydroperoxides (LOOH) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARs).
