    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.2, pp. 2245-2267, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.047323

Abstract Increasing Internet of Things (IoT) device connectivity makes botnet attacks more dangerous, carrying catastrophic hazards. As IoT botnets evolve, their dynamic and multifaceted nature hampers conventional detection methods. This paper proposes a risk assessment framework based on fuzzy logic and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to address the risks associated with IoT botnets. Fuzzy logic addresses IoT threat uncertainties and ambiguities methodically. Fuzzy component settings are optimized using PSO to improve accuracy. The methodology allows for more complex thinking by transitioning from binary to continuous assessment. Instead of expert inputs, PSO data-driven tunes rules and membership functions. This study presents a… More >

Abstract The main goal of informal computing is to overcome the limitations of hypersensitivity to defects and uncertainty while maintaining a balance between high accuracy, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness. This paper investigates the potential applications of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) with rough sets in the context of sparse data. When it comes to capture uncertain information emanating from both upper and lower approximations, these intuitionistic fuzzy rough numbers (IFRNs) are superior to intuitionistic fuzzy sets and pythagorean fuzzy sets, respectively. We use rough sets in conjunction with IFSs to develop several fairly aggregation operators and analyze their underlying properties. We present numerous… More > Graphic Abstract

    Aaqib Inam1, Zhu Li1,*, Salah-ud-din Khokhar2, Zubia Zafar3, Muhammad Imran4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 699-715, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039707

Abstract Mosquitoes are of great concern for occasionally carrying noxious diseases (dengue, malaria, zika, and yellow fever). To control mosquitoes, it is very crucial to effectively monitor their behavioral trends and presence. Traditional mosquito repellent works by heating small pads soaked in repellant, which then diffuses a protected area around you, a great alternative to spraying yourself with insecticide. But they have limitations, including the range, turning them on manually, and then waiting for the protection to kick in when the mosquitoes may find you. This research aims to design a fuzzy-based controller to solve the above issues by automatically determining… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 2291-2306, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.039101

Abstract The generation of electricity, considering environmental and economic factors is one of the most important challenges of recent years. In this article, a thermoelectric generator (TEG) is proposed to use the thermal energy of an electric water heater (EWH) to generate electricity independently. To improve the energy conversion efficiency of the TEG, a fuzzy logic controller (FLC)-based perturb & observe (P&O) type maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control algorithm is used in this study. An EWH is one of the major electricity consuming household appliances which causes a higher electricity price for consumers. Also, a significant amount of thermal energy… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 507-524, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.037640

Abstract Through the use of the internet and cloud computing, users may access their data as well as the programmes they have installed. It is now more challenging than ever before to choose which cloud service providers to take advantage of. When it comes to the dependability of the cloud infrastructure service, those who supply cloud services, as well as those who seek cloud services, have an equal responsibility to exercise utmost care. Because of this, further caution is required to ensure that the appropriate values are reached in light of the ever-increasing need for correct decision-making. The purpose of this… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 17-32, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.036623

Abstract In many problems, to analyze the process/metabolism behavior, a model of the system is identified. The main gap is the weakness of current methods vs. noisy environments. The primary objective of this study is to present a more robust method against uncertainties. This paper proposes a new deep learning scheme for modeling and identification applications. The suggested approach is based on non-singleton type-3 fuzzy logic systems (NT3-FLSs) that can support measurement errors and high-level uncertainties. Besides the rule optimization, the antecedent parameters and the level of secondary memberships are also adjusted by the suggested square root cubature Kalman filter (SCKF).… More >

Abstract The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a networking paradigm related to the intercommunication of vehicles using a network. In a dynamic network, one of the key challenges in IoV is traffic management under increasing vehicles to avoid congestion. Therefore, optimal path selection to route traffic between the origin and destination is vital. This research proposed a realistic strategy to reduce traffic management service response time by enabling real-time content distribution in IoV systems using heterogeneous network access. Firstly, this work proposed a novel use of the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm and formulated the path planning optimization problem as an… More >
