    Tsu-Yang Wu1,2, Haonan Li2, Saru Kumari3, Chien-Ming Chen1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.79, No.1, pp. 19-46, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.048347

Abstract Hyperspectral image classification stands as a pivotal task within the field of remote sensing, yet achieving high-precision classification remains a significant challenge. In response to this challenge, a Spectral Convolutional Neural Network model based on Adaptive Fick’s Law Algorithm (AFLA-SCNN) is proposed. The Adaptive Fick’s Law Algorithm (AFLA) constitutes a novel metaheuristic algorithm introduced herein, encompassing three new strategies: Adaptive weight factor, Gaussian mutation, and probability update policy. With adaptive weight factor, the algorithm can adjust the weights according to the change in the number of iterations to improve the performance of the algorithm. Gaussian mutation helps the algorithm avoid… More >

Optimization of Gas-Flooding Fracturing Development in Ultra-Low Permeability Reservoirs

    Lifeng Liu1, Menghe Shi2, Jianhui Wang3, Wendong Wang2,*, Yuliang Su2, Xinyu Zhuang2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 595-607, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.041962

Abstract Ultra-low permeability reservoirs are characterized by small pore throats and poor physical properties, which are at the root of well-known problems related to injection and production. In this study, a gas injection flooding approach is analyzed in the framework of numerical simulations. In particular, the sequence and timing of fracture channeling and the related impact on production are considered for horizontal wells with different fracture morphologies. Useful data and information are provided about the regulation of gas channeling and possible strategies to delay gas channeling and optimize the gas injection volume and fracture parameters. It is shown that in order… More >

Comparative Analysis for Evaluating Wind Energy Resources Using Intelligent Optimization Algorithms and Numerical Methods

    Musaed Alrashidi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 491-513, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.038628

Abstract Statistical distributions are used to model wind speed, and the two-parameters Weibull distribution has proven its effectiveness at characterizing wind speed. Accurate estimation of Weibull parameters, the scale (c) and shape (k), is crucial in describing the actual wind speed data and evaluating the wind energy potential. Therefore, this study compares the most common conventional numerical (CN) estimation methods and the recent intelligent optimization algorithms (IOA) to show how precise estimation of c and k affects the wind energy resource assessments. In addition, this study conducts technical and economic feasibility studies for five sites in the northern part of Saudi… More >

    Luyao Yang1,#, Hao Chen2,#, Haocheng Yu1, Jin Qiu1,*, Shuxian Zhu1,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.1, pp. 731-745, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.020656

Abstract Discrete Tomography (DT) is a technology that uses image projection to reconstruct images. Its reconstruction problem, especially the binary image (0–1 matrix) has attracted strong attention. In this study, a fixed point iterative method of integer programming based on intelligent optimization is proposed to optimize the reconstructed model. The solution process can be divided into two procedures. First, the DT problem is reformulated into a polyhedron judgment problem based on lattice basis reduction. Second, the fixed-point iterative method of Dang and Ye is used to judge whether an integer point exists in the polyhedron of the previous program. All the… More >

An Intelligent Optimization Method of Reinforcing Bar Cutting for Construction Site

    Zhaoxi Ma1, Qin Zhao1,*, Tianyou Cang1, Zongjian Li2, Yiyun Zhu1, Xinhong Hei3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.1, pp. 637-655, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021216

Abstract To meet the requirements of specifications, intelligent optimization of steel bar blanking can improve resource utilization and promote the intelligent development of sustainable construction. As one of the most important building materials in construction engineering, reinforcing bars (rebar) account for more than 30% of the cost in civil engineering. A significant amount of cutting waste is generated during the construction phase. Excessive cutting waste increases construction costs and generates a considerable amount of COCO2 emission. This study aimed to develop an optimization algorithm for steel bar blanking that can be used in the intelligent optimization of steel bar engineering to… More >

Abstract The recent technological developments have revolutionized the functioning of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN)-based industries with the development of Internet of Things (IoT). Internet of Drones (IoD) is a division under IoT and is utilized for communication amongst drones. While drones are naturally mobile, it undergoes frequent topological changes. Such alterations in the topology cause route election, stability, and scalability problems in IoD. Encryption is considered as an effective method to transmit the images in IoD environment. The current study introduces an Atom Search Optimization based Clustering with Encryption Technique for Secure Internet of Drones (ASOCE-SIoD) environment. The key objective of… More >

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.15, No.3, pp. 183-206, 2021, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2021.018247

Abstract Digital twin (DT) can achieve real-time information fusion and interactive feedback between virtual space and physical space. This technology involves a digital model, real-time information management, comprehensive intelligent perception networks, etc., and it can drive the rapid conceptual development of intelligent construction (IC) such as smart factories, smart cities, and smart medical care. Nevertheless, the actual use of DT in IC is partially pending, with numerous scientific factors still not clarified. An overall survey on pending issues and unsolved scientific factors is needed for the development of DT-driven IC. To this end, this study aims to provide a comprehensive review… More >

A Homogeneous Cloud Task Distribution Method Based on an Improved Leapfrog Algorithm

    Yunliang Huo1, Ji Xiong1,*, Zhixing Guo1, Qianbing You1, Yi Peng2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.128, No.1, pp. 359-379, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.015314

Abstract Cloud manufacturing is a new manufacturing model with crowd-sourcing characteristics, where a cloud alliance composed of multiple enterprises, completes tasks that a single enterprise cannot accomplish by itself. However, compared with heterogeneous cloud tasks, there are relatively few studies on cloud alliance formation for homogeneous tasks. To bridge this gap, a novel method is presented in this paper. First, a homogeneous cloud task distribution model under cloud environment was constructed, where services description, selection and combination were modeled. An improved leapfrog algorithm for cloud task distribution (ILA-CTD) was designed to solve the proposed model. Different from the current alternatives, the… More >
